iRangeX IRX6 enables Flysky Transmitters to work with NRF24L01 protocol, which gives us support for a lot of different quads. A nice thread is started by buzzjob here:
IRX6 Multiprotocol TX Module for Flysky FS-i6 i6x Transmitter Compatibility List
Even though buzzjob mentiones it does not work with FS-i6S, this Module works fine with Flysky FS-i6S
However IRX6 by default need external battery, and this setup made it a bit less 'elegant' and easier to disconnect during the flight. There is, at least in my version, a mod to make the IRX6 use Transmitter's power supply.
To do so, simply connect those two pads.
I decided to give it a try and bridge those two pads together, not the cleanest solder, but it does the job
Last step was to de-solder the cables, after testing the solution. Works like a charm with my FS-i6S:
Looks nicer, easier to use, with no need to remember about additional battery
