mixed motor kv?
#1
Hi there,

One of my motors died and the spares I have are a different kv. Currently on the quad :diatone mamba 1105x 5000kv; the spares I have are Betafpv 1105x 6000kv. I'll be powering them on 3s (it's a 3inch toothpick). What would be the repercussions of such a match, if any?

1105x 5000kv vs 1105x 6000kv is not that huge a difference.

If you have bi-directional dshot then hopefully the code can compensate for the differences in RPM.

I will suggest you give it a quick try. You will immediately know how the quad behaves but my educated guess is that it will be just fine.

Yes, u can have different KV motors, remember u will be limited to the lowest KV.

Thanks for responding. So you're saying the other 3 motors will perform on the same level as the odd one?

The other 3 motors should be close enough in terms of performance that the FC should be able to adjust for the variations in RPM during flight.
