Looking forward to your range/antenna testing unseen, and the build... It's going to be some interesting testing for sure! I've received one half of the parts I need to adapt from the IPX connectors on the antennas to SMA, but I'm still waiting for the IPX sockets and the antennas themselves. • Posts: 227 Threads: 35 Likes Received: 202 in 116 posts Likes Given: 278 Joined: Mar 2017 Reputation: 5 While these two gentlemen might be excellent FPV pilots, they obviously know nothing about RF and their highly unscientific test is, at best, misleading. > Love you for this, man! I also repositioned it further away from the quad (unseen, i know you were really recommending moving the RX itself, not the antenna. Before I dove into that operation i figured i'd give just a new antenna and a new position a try). I get the feeling that I must have had a damaged antenna and that's what is making the difference now... but I can't even quantify the range difference. It's SO much better now that I haven't hit the limits. It's clear it's not like a full range RX, but with a 200mw VTX it might be hard to hit the limit and still see what you're doing. Brilliant! despite being slightly smaller than what a quad this size can handle ... the 2035's are awesome. silky smooth, powerful and still efficient. I just had to use these other props because I had them around and remember being so excited about them! They're actually pretty great.... but I'll switch out to the 2035's soon. Right now I'm little distracted by my other other 2s build that also just came in from armattan!: Posts: 3,288 Threads: 129 Likes Received: 2,740 in 1,644 posts Likes Given: 2,969 Joined: Apr 2017 Reputation: 65 That is really neat! I have been having a lot of fun with my micro drone around the house, but something like yours would be cool outside! SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Addicted :) Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 (04-Jun-2017, 01:48 AM)CesiumSalami Wrote: Right now I'm little distracted by my other other 2s build that also just came in from armattan! You can get it from Armattan in 3 + 4mm: https://armattanproductions.com/pages/pr...tails/7562 https://armattanproductions.com/pages/pr...tails/7563 Or just 3d print it! In nylon it's super tough: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2100233 The cam pod(s) and overall project are located on T4b's main page below which list the GAZILLION frame options and cam pods (including mine). T4b did mention that he would be offering the micro swift cam pod with 1.5 and 2mm side plates soon. Mine is 1mm and I think that's a little too thin for any serious crashes... but it has held up so far. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1783281 Got to fly a few packs around campus yesterday. Super easy flying as I was checking for soft targets all the time and generally didn't want to cause a fuss. But the campus is more or less empty right now that school's out fo summah. I haven't calibrated the current sensor yet, so it's reading a little high. Full blast this lists pulling 30A. In this session I never really broke 20A. Despite appearances, I do actually design my own stuff from the ground up These were just both two instances where there was a gap that I wanted to fill. At the time there wasn't a stretched version meant for 4in1 esc's and I still don't think there's a version that fits these oversized HQ3030 props. Additionally, I did coordinate with T4b on the release. The one with the video and orange props is a 3" build with a little extra space for the oversized HQ3030 props and uses an older version of the FC below which has an OSD/PDB/Current sensor built it. It's super beefy! Much thicker than the PikoBLX and soaks up a ton of heat during soldering. I'm using it with a 4in1 so soldering is weird... (directly onto the shunt on one side) but it does seem to work! planning on getting another one for a 4" 1407 build. http://pirofliprc.com/OMNIBUS-F3-Nano-v2_p_4094.html • |
