So I needed a quad since my main one has developed issues and my Meteor85 has a bad motor. So what to do, well I had some 1102 motors, but they don't fit on a 85mm whoop frame (3 holes vs 4 holes).  So I ripped the canopy and FC from the Meteor85 and put it on to a Meteor75 frame.  Added the BetaFPV 1102 14000kv motors and some random 4 blade props that i have no idea where they came from.  They were in a random BetaFPV bag in my props box.

The result is this.



So it flies, but I haven't tuned it or anything so far.

Yeah. It's a bit heavy I think. Hovers at around 35-40. I need to plug in to BF and get it set up properly. I flew it in the house a bit with a 2S 450 and it feels heavy, but until I can take it outside and rip it around a bit, I won't know for sure. also it stil has a 80% throttle limit, so need to make that 90%. But until I can get an idea of amp draw at 100%, I can't make definite choices on throttle limits.

Sorry never saw this back then.  It was a 12A AIO back then I think.  I don't actually remember. i also thought it had 18000kv motors on it, but after re-reading the first post i had a check and they are indeed 14000kv. i think I bought them when the Pavo Pico first came out. Can't get them any more.

So was in the mood today and decided to try out that new flux and yes it is the best stuff ever.  So I had the Meteor75 sat on a shelf and it flew ok on 2S in LoS, but no VTX.  It now uses the 12A 1-2S BetaFPV AIO that I soldered up last year, the one with no OSD.  So I use ELRS telemetryto tell me when the battery is low.

So I removed the connector wires for the Diamond from it.  Decided to repurpose this 400mW whoop vtx I had on the Meteor85.  It's smaller, lighter and more powerful than the HM Diamond.  I also removed the Ant Nano from the Meteor85 canopy and installed it into a new Micro Light canopy.  Beyond that it was a matter of soldering the three wires for the VTX to the FC (5V, GND, SA) and soldering the other two together so i would get a picture.  So I put everything together and put it back on the frame and plugged the motors back in.  First test it was squirly.  Turns out i put the canopy on backwards.  So i swapped it around and it then flew as it should.  It weighs (including a CNHL 2S 450) 54.8g.  It flies in LoS very rapidly.  I'm hoping to get out and rip a couple of packs tomorrow and see how it actually flies.  Flight times are going to be short since I can't do the usual tricks you do when you have OSD to make the Lipos last longer, so i'm planning for 2 min flights and see where it goes.

I've named it Revision 4, but I have no clue how many iterations this build has been through.  At least four, maybe a lot more.  It's been run on two 5A AIO, and two 12A AIO's, plus a couple of different motors.

Does anyone think it's worth capping the motors lower to extend whatever flight time I get.  The nearest motor I have for comparison on 2S is the 1002 14000kv and that may end up on this one eventually.  I suspect 1102 at this kv will be too powerful, but I find it weak on 1S.

Took it for a spin and was losing video after about 20m, goggles kept flashing up bad VTX. Need to look at the VTX on it. i did manage to increase range a little by jacking up the VTX power level via ELRS > VTX Administrator. At 350mW it went to maybe 30m. I wonder if the ufl isn't seated properly. Even on this whip antenna it should be good to a couple hundred metres. Might try and get a Cherry on it, although IMO it's a bit small for a Cherry. Will disassemble it tomorrow and see what's going on.

2s on tiny motors small rotors and lot of rpms = lot of noise
I would suggest to try a small low esr capacitator, if you canr solve the video issue otherwise.

I actualy run 2s on 0803 motors with 45mm blades, 20000kv with a tiny motor outputlimit. I didnt expect it does work so well, dont be shy about kv just some caution about startup power, capacitator and output limit ( max rpms )
14000kv might work on 3s either on 75mm blades :-)

First thing i would try are three or fourblades, 2blades cause more noise to the system

I actually got two packs of the Gemfan triblades they use on the Cetus Pro, today, so going to try those.

I suspect the video issue is probably the ufl has touched some other component causing interference or a short, but not enough to kill the VTX. One of tomorrows jobs is to take the canopy off and have a look and see what it looks like. Testing will be to set it to 25mW and then put it outside in my back garden and walk to the front of the house. If I still have good picture, it's probably fixed. Or I guess if not, fly it to the top of the house, while standing in the kitchen. I already have a cap on this build and the problem isn't the flashing horizontal bands issue you get with dirty power, it's no picture full stop. it's like a night and day thing once it goes more than say 20m. I've had stuff fly further on less.

I also had the motors limited at 80%, which has now been changed to 95%. It's not short of thrust on 2S. I was hovering at about 25% with an 80% limit. AUW is pretty much 55g, which on 1S could be an issue, but on 2S, it isn't. These motors are the same ones they use on the Pavo Pico, so they probably will do 3S, but might need a throttle limit, since the BFPV site mentions them being unsuitable for 3S. Either way i think they are overly powerful for 2S. Looking at the frame, I could actually go to the 1103 11000kv from the Meteor85 if I wanted, but thrust isn't an issue so far.

But going to work on it tomorrow.

Interesting fun build, I have that whoop frame, which I have transfer components over from a mobula6, this is basically the rig that I learnt on.

I snapped the bottom bit off the 1S battery holder and stuck a zip tie around the bottom of the frame.  As low tech as it gets.  But it holds a CNHL 2S 450 HV Lipo pretty well.
