Matek develops Serialshot

New ESC protocol is here!

https://oscarliang.com/serialshot/

What's new?
  • fewer wires between FC and 4in1 ESC
  • going to be cheaper as it uses only 1 CPU instead of 4?
What's your thought?

I'm not a fan of 4 into 1 ESCs.  I like how they look for the build, but SOOOOOOO many people are having them fail.  But I don't think this addresses the failure issue, does it?

Sounds like a step forward. Unfortunately, I am giving up on 4in1 unless I don't have any other choice for a build. Tired of replacing 4in1. If the price drops to $30, I would consider it.

I wonder if it will be as good as Blheli32.

Same boat as the above guys - not a big fan of 4-in-1 ESCs, but market forces seem to disagree with us. And it seems to be getting harder to find AIO FCs now as well, so even if you go individual ESCs then you need a PDB in your stack.

Bah.

The ground is for dead people.

Pawel also just mentioned this new protocol as well in his latest video at the link below...

I really do like the Matek stuff. It generally seems easy to set up and they always provide a ton of useful documentation.
