It's a busbar which is used in the EE world to reduce resistance when high current need to be carried. It also helps to dissipate any heat generated by high current much quicker. It's probably not a necessity which is why you don't see them on (m)any other ESCs but it's a nice touch and shows they actually thought about high current design features. 27-Jan-2019, 11:25 AM (27-Jan-2019, 05:25 AM)Krohsis Wrote: Airbot makes other Tekko ESCs. The ESCs on my 10 inch are Airbots, and they are sold as Tekkos as well. I'm happy with them....but they were slow to fill the order. You mentioned earlier that you like the idea of having metal FETs. The Tekko32 F3 also comes in a "Metal" version which can handle 65A... https://www.banggood.com/Holybro-Tekko32...01086.html I know you don't really like buying from Banggood but there currently seems to be limited suppliers of these in the US. Probably because these ESCs are still fairly new. I'm sure more US suppliers will get stock of them as more batches get manufactured. FPV Direct was the only US supplier that popped up amongst the first few pages of search results... https://www.fpv-direct.com/holybro-tekko...l-esc.html Also available as an Airbot Furling32... https://airbot.uk/product/furling32-f3-metal-65a-esc 27-Jan-2019, 01:42 PM (27-Jan-2019, 11:25 AM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: You mentioned earlier that you like the idea of having metal FETs. The attracton of the original Lumeniers was the shape, long and thin to fit on the arms of the Super G+, and make it look purdy. But, I am a guy that takes function over appearance, and the Airbots are a known quantity. And I believe that the Lumeniers are not high enough amps for a 7 inch quad, but I have yet to punch in numbers on ecalc....but I believe I did so for Kaity and her original choice for an ESC came up short in amp handling, I don't remember the details though....decisions, decisions. |
