0 Crash my kwad last night and been on the hunt for it this morning and found it am so happy..So been around 8hrs upside down and has rained over night.
Question is...Do I dry it out? then is it safe to unplug or just unplug straight away.
That feeling when u find it is mega well happy as it was my first build..

789 Some people say to unplug the quad underwater, but yours hasn't been fully submerged. If it was me I would just dry the connectors as well as possible then unplug it by pulling the connectors far apart from each other, quickly. That is what I would do anyway.

8 I would un-plug the lipo and dry what you can of the quad, then stick it in a bag of rice. The rice will absorb any moisture. Or buy some desiccant, like silica gel beads and use that in stead of rice.

14 07-Aug-2021, 04:32 PM (This post was last modified: 07-Aug-2021, 04:34 PM by sevro.) For a board that was exposed to water I would bath in isopropyl alcohol. It will help displace the water and also dry it out.
Skip the rice when it comes to electronics and water damage, it's not going to be proactive enough to help.

11 I would check your lipo. I made an emergency landing and had to go back the next day to retrieve in daylight. It was still beeping but had drained my new lipo down to nothing. The cells became very puffy and I'm afraid to charge it now. I guess loosing a 43.00 battery is better than losing a 1000.00 quad right?

8 When it comes to damaged/puffy lipo batteries, I don't take any chances. Even the most expensive quad lipo in the world is worth nothing compared to my house.
Personally I would just put it on my charger and discharge it as low as you can, then put it in trash.
