TIA. • Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 What firmware and version are you running on your flight controller? • Posts: 14 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 0 17-Apr-2016, 07:47 PM (This post was last modified: 17-Apr-2016, 07:47 PM by Dartec.) In the latest version of Cleanflight, the loop time is fixed to the gyro and will be 1000, regardless of what you set. (On an F1 flight controller at least). • Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 (17-Apr-2016, 07:47 PM)Dartec Wrote: I am running Cleanflight, Version 1.21.1 (current latest). Like what unseen said... leave it at 1000, I think that's gyro synced as well, should be good enough for most people. • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 (17-Apr-2016, 11:41 PM)Oscar Wrote: Like what unseen said... leave it at 1000, I think that's gyro synced as well, should be good enough for most people. Indeed. If you run the latest Cleanflight with the default PIDs, it works really well for most quads. Just about any quad will fly at least as well as a new flyer needs. Keeping the gyro and loop time connected makes lots of sense, but as a flyer, you won't even start to notice the difference between synced and not synced until you start to become really good. • Posts: 14 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 0 Sorry, a typo. I am running Cleanflight 1.12.1 In Cleanflight, under the Configuration tab, it show the loop time as 2000.. When doing a dump of my settings it also shows as 2000.. So are you guys saying that even though it shows 2000, Cleanflight is actually setting it at 1000? TIA. • Posts: 119 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 9 in 4 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 2 No you have it backwards. If you change your looptime to 2000 you will only be running at 500hz. Stock is 1000 looptime, 1000hz. The lower your looptime the faster your gyro is calculated and the faster your motors can be updates...or something like that. • Posts: 14 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 0 (18-Apr-2016, 08:54 PM)Bandook Wrote: No you have it backwards. Then I am missing something .... unseen said that the loop time is fixed to the gyro at 1000, but with a clean install (with stock settings) of Cleanflight, I am seeing it as 2000 .... What am I missing? • Posts: 918 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 533 in 271 posts Likes Given: 498 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 30 Latest CF config is V1.2.1 • Posts: 14 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 0 Yes, the latest version of the Configurator is 1.2.1, but the latest version of the firmware is 1.12.1. I assumed the other users were wanting to know what version of the firmware I was running. • Posts: 918 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 533 in 271 posts Likes Given: 498 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 30 (19-Apr-2016, 03:00 PM)Dartec Wrote: Yes, the latest version of the Configurator is 1.2.1, but the latest version of the firmware is 1.12.1. Gotcha !, I thought you may have had a Dyslexic keyboard like mine and transposed the numbers incorrectly. • Posts: 119 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 9 in 4 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 2 What are we going on about? Lol. Run default looptime, whatever that is and see how it feels. Then bump it down by half and see if it still flies. Keep an eye on your CPU usage in CLI tab, and that your looptime stays where you put it. The best you can probably run on the Naze is 250lt/4000hz. But that's on betaflight. You'll have to see what others are doing with that board in Cleanflight. BTW, you will lose self level modes at those low looptimes, if that's important to u. • |
