JazzMaverick's BLHeli_S version 16.9 RPM FIlter
#1
Finally, "Bidirectional DSHOT" for everyone, free.

After reading countless discussion, accusation and criticism posts, I decided to try BLHeli_S 16.9 by Jazz Maverick.
I have put it on 5 drones, Eachine Reddevil, LarvaX, Tyro79, US65 / UK65.
So far, having flown a few batteries in each, everything works fine.
I have put BF 4.1.7, BF 4.1.1 performance on the UK65 and BF 4.2 on the Larva X.
On all with the RPM filter active, using 8K/4K DSHOT300 on all and 2K/2K DSHOT150 on the UK65.
The engines are running very well and are cold.
With this, any drone that has the CrazybeeF4 2.1 and 3.0 controllers, the CrazybeeF3 1.2 and almost any FC from F411 up, and surely any ESC (BB1 and BB2) should work.
The configuration of the ESCs is in 48Khz (I have not used 96Khz) with the parameters MIN PWM 1148 and MAX PWM 1644.

Albert Kim and many others explain how to install the firmware on the ESCs, it is very simple, you just have to choose the version that corresponds to each model (Example BLheli 'S-H-50' for CrazybeeF4 V2.1 boards) and configure with PWM options the 48Khz.
All these drones fly well with BF 4.1.7 set by default and better with the RPM filter active.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you mean blheli_M? That is what Jazz is calling 16.9.

There was free RPM filtering with 16.73 for everyone. Jazz broke it with 16.8, and that is why you see all the backlash. But 16.9 is compatible again. But you do want to be careful setting up 16.9. It is not just plug and play.

Yes, I was referring to Blheli_M 16.9
Apparently the only problem was the number of DSHOT packets that the firmware was sending to the FC, but this can be selected as I see it, in the configuration.
Asynchronous or synchronous, called CE in the options.
The only complaint from the Betaflight developers was regarding the telemetry data rate that ESC was returning, and this is what has apparently been fixed.
I have also read that some ESCs have been burned, even using JESC.
Version 16.8 is the one with asynchronous communication, and was rejected for it in BF.
Anyway, from what I read, there are many interests in those discussions that go beyond the technical, since there is also money at stake.
Anyway, I have also installed it in a Tyro69 (BB1 "L"), so there are already 5 birds with that version of BLM, if I notice anything, I will report it, but for now they all fly well, without temperature in the engines or anything that calls me the attention.

Unfortunately, we are all beta tester in this hobby. If we want to run cutting edge firmware, we all have to take the risk of stuff burning. Even if we pay for the firmware like JESC.

Glad things are working for you. Maybe you can write a tutorial on how you setup 16.9.

i've tried 4.1.1 performance on an crazybeeF3FR_FRsky from Mobula7 and its not comunicating with the escs...

tried the 16.73 version.. but i think it wasn't working with the blheli 16.0 either..

reflashed 4.0.6 i think. and i can't get it to work again...

esc's flash fine, just no motor spin up in betaflight configurator..

would love to run rpm filtering on my MOPICK... it's running on the 5inch F4 processor..

might try 16.9 but it might be betaflight at fault..?  Thinking
