I started with the DJI FPV, and within 2 days I wanted MORE, so I got a BNF Nazgul ... And a Diatone Roma 5 ... And a TinyGo ... And a TinyHawk ... And then I got a 3D printer ... Now I am addicted to making my quads 'color themed'! I need an intervention LMAO! I ticked the wrong box when I bought my 1202s and they came with the orange colour. I blame iFly and Lemony for my current state of addiction. I have so many potential builds on the go it's crazy. Anytime I order some parts I buy some spares as well, maybe a cam or a vtx, or a spare fc, some spare esc and so many frames. I looked in my parts boxes (there was one originally and now three). I have like eight different frames, four sets of different motors, not enough flight controllers, several ovx303's, several caddx ant nano's, three broken whoops in various states of disrepair and a cinewhoop that needs to be moved into a more sensible frame. Not to mention all the screws, caps and other things. Oh and the 18x 2S Lipos which are still sat in there boxes (delivered 6-7 weeks back). Two weeks ago it was PDB's. My suggestion is to find help sooner rather than later, before you start flying at 10pm and buy a hot air repair machine and attempt to to build a flux capacitor in the hope of moving through solid matter (or your neighbours fence). Never pick it up…” Posts: 771 Threads: 5 Likes Received: 443 in 325 posts Likes Given: 209 Joined: May 2021 Reputation: 14 With the wild colors distracting me I almost didn't recognize the frame in the OP. The camera mount didn't look right for an AOS frame, is it TPU only? I had TPU covers on my AOS5v1 camera plates but it seemed a bit too bulky and caused the camera plates to splay apart more than they should because of where the standoffs are which managed to strip out my DJI fpv camera. As for the topic, I got the 3d printer sort of as a result of the FPV hobby. Even though at the time of purchase I was already hearing a repeating mantra NOT to fill the frame up with TPU everywhere for performance and flight time sake. I feel like I get a lot more time with the same intensity on my new AOS5v2 build over the AOS5v1 that has more TPU bits including somewhat bulky TPU arm protector/feet. I also finally wanted to try out the Runcam Orange that I picked up a while back but never bothered getting a mount for it. I ran it for a few sessions and then the o3 air unit came out and had compatibility with the v2 goggles, I had to try it. • Posts: 312 Threads: 70 Likes Received: 133 in 74 posts Likes Given: 123 Joined: Dec 2021 Reputation: 8 (07-Mar-2023, 12:31 AM)sevro Wrote: With the wild colors distracting me I almost didn't recognize the frame in the OP. Initially I made the camera mount in TPU, but there was too much jello in the video feed - The PLA one I'm now using is much better, and only 3 grams heavier Posts: 4,073 Threads: 75 Likes Received: 2,548 in 1,858 posts Likes Given: 3,949 Joined: May 2021 Reputation: 121 (07-Mar-2023, 02:06 AM)relentlesstech Wrote: Initially I made the camera mount in TPU, but there was too much jello in the video feed - The PLA one I'm now using is much better, and only 3 grams heavier It’s a beautiful build. I may have already asked this in your build thread, but I don’t remember- was the carbon fiber already that awesome blue tint, or did you dye/paint it? If so, what did you use? Dangerous operations. Non-black has been much rarer over the years than might be expected, and its a long time since then and I don't remember another sighting till now. Maybe someone should start a coloured carbon frame thread? Posts: 333 Threads: 17 Likes Received: 273 in 173 posts Likes Given: 290 Joined: Jul 2022 Reputation: 14 Shit. Where was this post when i still needed it. Am about 8 months in the hobby and past the point of no return. Have already build over 10 quads with a fleet of 7 in active duty. Tried to call for help but nobody listened. Also my new kittens did not stop me as they should . hey should have been afraid of me flying quads indoors but instead they are either ignoring them totaly (when bussy playing with eachother) or chasing them. My wife knows me too well to even try. I am lost. Please ..... Help ..... Me...... |
