You are welcome. Who needs an FTDI anyways!

Just in case anyone is trying this with a Q6 Pro, you should know that the TX and RX pins are reversed for that device. IDK why…but they are. Caused me a lot of frustration until I figured that out…

Just wanted to share that in 2024, this post is still helping keep Q6 plus going! I made a cable per the instructions in this post, and successfully updated 2 Q6 Plus chargers!

In case anyone else comes along and needs it - the update software is actually a little nicer than when Oscar posted the original. Get the software from here
https://www.isdt.co/down/software/ISD Go.zip

in case that link goes missing, it seems the permanent way to find it is from this document - just grab the link from there
isdt.co/down/software/winAppUpdate.json

No need to download firmware file, the app will retrieve the latest for you. Procedure is pretty straight forward

Connect FTDI adapter to computer
Start Software (ISD Go.exe)
Connect FTDI adapter to charger
Power charger
Software will detect charger and let you know if there is an update
click update - I DID HAVE THIS FAIL FIRST TRY. said no charger connected. just restart and all fine
will see progress indicator

if you want to rename the charger (just the display), hover over the reaname button to show the text field, fill in the new name in the text entry field above "rename" button and click the button.
