yay!! thank you!

worked perfectly
-- only took me rather long to get the charger connected to my PC--
but when i managed to do so  i just had to 'downdate' the FW to SC-608 V2.0.2.35.zip from the link you brought to get the English and it kept it after upgrading FW again!

all is well and bliss is upon me. Smile
maybe oscar could put it into his review for people to find quickly..

Your welcome.
However, I'm not so happy with my charger and I am currently RMAing it. Reason being is that 70% of the time it doesn't turn on properly, regardless of power source, and instead just gives me a lit black screen and a series of beeps.

Hello all, I am new to this forum.  First time post, because I have search and was not able to find an answer.

Has anyone tried to use an Arduino Nano with the CH340 chip as an serial adapter instead of using the FTDI in this post.  I have tried two of the three methods Oscar mentioned for the Arduino UNO, but neither has not been successful for me.  My ATMega chip is soldered, so I don't want to try the last method of remove the chip.  In all the schematics I have read, the CH340 is very similar to the FTDI chip.  I don't see why it shouldn't work.  I would hate to have to buy a FTDI adapter, especially since I already own a Nano.

Any suggestion would help.

the Arduino isn't designed to be used as FTDI adapter.. a good FTDI adapter only cost $3 anyway it's a good investment...

I have already tried the sketch and RST to GRN method. And I am not going to try to desolder my ATMega chip. It is not the money to buy a FTDI, I know it is dirt cheap. It is about tinkering and experiments. And one it already on it way.

I figured that an Arduino nano is just a USB and micro processor in one. So bypassing the ATMega should work. The only difference I can see is there is a 1K resistor between the CH340 RX and TX before they connect to pin 0 and 1. This is not the case on a stand alone USB adapter. I might soldering the RX and TX directly to the CH340 chip and see if it works.

So I figure how to use my Arduino Nano with CH340 chip to make a SCLinker.  I direct soldered the CH340 RX and TX.  As you can see there is two points on the board you can solder to.  Either pin 2 and 3 on CH340 or right before the 1K resistor.




You need to connect the GRN from 3.5mm plug to GRN on Nano.
The TX from 3.5mm plug to the RX on CH340
The RX from 3.5mm plug to the TX on CH340



The 1K resistor must block the signal too much.

There you have it folks, another way to use an Arduino Nano.  I guess I don't need the FTDI that will arrive 15 days from now.
