no, in the UART port enabled MSP and you are good to go.

Lights on the osd light up? Have you uploaded the fonts to the osd? Configured in in the osd GUI?

make sure you selected the right FC firmware in the MWOSD config file before uploading sketch ?

Can you provide more info on your setup (please post a picture or better - your exact wiring diagram)? Is Rx wired to Tx and Tx to Rx, etc?

1. before soldering to quad... connect to FTDI, upload the firmware
2. upload fonts
3. adjust what to show what to hide (ie timer, or horizont)
4. connect with FC, ensure msp is selected, (check tx rx, swap, check, swap again)
5. enjoy Smile
(quite old but gold )
