iFlight SucceX-D Whoop RX_FAILSAFE while on battery
#16
Using UART1 (from Vista) for the crossfire works! Also on battery, so I think you are right about something happened to the UART2.

Please guys can you help me setting up soft serial for Vista? I never did it.

Thanks

Before you think about going soft serial why don't you try connecting the Vista to the UART 2 on the old Crossfire plug? Maybe Vista can work on that by simply enabling MSP on UART 2.

Else we need to look for spare pads (an LED_Strip pad or a Buzzer pad) that we can use but DJI MSP on soft serial is a real PITA.

I DID IT! :-D

I remapped LED_STRIP to softserial and enabled it as MSP, then I soldered LED_STRIP to Vista TX and T2 to Vista RX, now both Vista and Crossfire work and also work radio on battery, so I think it's the R2 to have an issue when on battery.

Now I have a lot of unused wires around the quad (because I used various connectors) but I will find a solution for that.

Thank you very much guys! And let see what iFlight will answer.

I know having Vista on SoftSerial is a pain but this is a tinywhoop to fly around/inside house so it could be a good workaround by now.

Can you explain better your idea? Are you speaking about switching the Crossfire on UART1 (where is Vista now) and then put Vista on UART2 (where is Crossfire now)?

Hey @kafie1980 it works! So no more softserial, now I just switch UART2 to Vista and UART1 for Crossfire and everything works fine Big Grin

Are all the custom Betaflight OSD elements being displayed, and more importantly,  are they their values actually changing?

I still didn't a full fly but battery and timer items on OSD seems to work fine, so I think everything is working now but we will see after the first real fly

Hello guys! Sorry for necroposting Got the same issue, fixed with changing uarts between Vista and Crossfire, but looks like custom osd doesn’t works for me and Vista is in Low power mode even when quad is armed. Looks like something takes uart2 control when on battery. Any suggestions?
