It has been quite a while since I have been on this forum and let me tell you guys why: PLANES. One of my friends showed me his plane, and I got hooked. I am here to tell you guys that every one of you are incredibly fortunate to be in FPV. It was a huge mistake to get into planes. Let me tell you guys that people hate RC planes so much more than drones. I got booted out of my local park because of planes. Before, everyone was fine with my drones, but they are apparently not fine with planes. On top of that, RC planes take up too much space, and are expensive. Here's the verdict: I am getting back into FPV. Although my acro is a bit rusty, a few days of Freerider should do the trick, and I am planning on starting a new build some time soon (when I don't have too much homework and have some more cash. AP chemistry + AP world history+lots of honors classes = much pain) Thanks for supporting me, and I hope no hard feelings since I have been gone for such a long time. There is so much new innovation in the hobby, and I am quite excited to see whats around the corner! HAPPY FLYING! SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Addicted :) Posts: 98 Threads: 7 Likes Received: 50 in 31 posts Likes Given: 224 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 3 Hey, welcome back. Buuut, was it fun? To fly planes? Feel like constantly chasing perfection. Once you think you almost got it, see how far you are really. • Posts: 50 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 37 in 25 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 0 I do my flying on my own property which is big enough and rural enough that I don't have to worry about other people. Just another reason I could not live in a city. There are too many trees to fly planes comfortably or I'd easily get sucked into that venture. I overheard my wife talking with our son-in-law a few days ago about my various interests. She made a comment along the lines of "I expect to one day see him shooting at a quad while driving down a trail in the jeep." I probably shouldn't tell her that I'm just trying to work out the complexities of driving the jeep, controlling the quad, and shooting at the same time. Do the "follow me" quads follow vehicles very well? I'm not sure where the motorcycle fits into this scenario. • Posts: 1,773 Threads: 30 Likes Received: 1,199 in 755 posts Likes Given: 714 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 45 Good to see you found your way back from the dark side! Thanks everyone! Sometimes, we all need to be away from something to realize its true value! That sounds like something my ex-wife said to me many years ago. I haven't seen her since. Here's the thing about FPV planes: The video is shaky and there are tons of vibrations because of the wind. Honestly, flying FPV with a multirotor is the best way to FPV because it is smoother than planes. |
