I HAD 2 HD zero cameras in my cart, then they were removed

I just don't like to replace lenses because that really blows up the total price of the camera.

I've heard it mentioned that you don't get the full benefit from the HDZero camera unless you are using Orqa, FatShark HDO2, or Skyzone SKY04X goggles, so it will be interesting to see if you notice much difference using FatShark HDO goggles because I also only have the HDO's as well.

I WAS going to just “bite the bullet” and get the runcam and do the lens swap.. then the release for this camera was so near.. figured I would wait, plus locating a runcam AND the lens with shipping was close to $90… the cost of the 2 HDZero cameras..
Hey, I’m still flying f4 FCs on BLHELI s …EVENTUALITY, I will get the rest of my shark byte components ..
Can you imagine what’s gonna happen when they drop the release of the 1x vtx?!?!? EVERYONE is gonna want that for the penetration / range..I’m guessing they may use retailers for that ..
I may just go with the runcam for now as my goggles are dominator 3’s… so I won’t get the full Benefits of this system until I upgrade my goggles…

Goggle screen resolution.

The HDO's have a 960 x 720 screen resolution. The 720p that Shark Byte transmits at is actually a resolution of 1280 x 720. So the image will get downscaled on HDO goggles. The other 3 high end goggles I mentioned all have a higher screen resolution so it will be displayed natively with no downscaling.

EDIT: Even the FatShark Attitude V6 goggles have a better resolution (1280 x 960) that supports a 720p image without any downscaling. What you see on YouTube from the DVR (which is always full resolution) isn't necessarily what you will see live in the goggle screens if you have crappy resolution displays. So some of these high resolution cameras might not be that much better than the others if you have goggles with a lower screen resolution and/or if you have non-OLED screen goggles.

Well today all 200 cameras were sold out in under 1 minute, so there is clearly no slow up in demand. I hope that RunCam and all the vendors are taking note of this so that they will then ramp up production properly and get a decent amount of stock out to retail stores.

Let's see if the continued sell-out can break the 30 second mark by Friday Big Grin

Well done Thumbs Up

I did see that they were available for much longer today. Maybe there aren't actually as many people flying Shark Byte as first thought. Some people are suggesting that the new Foxeer Apollo which is supposedly coming in about a month might be just as good as or maybe even better than the RunCam HDZero. I don't know if anyone has some inside information or if it's just speculation. I have to admit that the DVR footage does look pretty impressive even with Facebook video compression. I guess we will find out in due course.

Fingers crossed that you and others who got them won't suffer any first batch curses.

Mad's Tech had an interesting statement on RCG: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost...count=7610

Mad_angler1;47984583 Wrote:This is not really sellout out due to demand or shortage as such It’s a small production run that’s being released in small batches.

1000 cams is there initial production run of the final camera that they are selling. While nothing has been 100% confirmed that Iv seen its expected there will be a much larger run in the future.  Runcam will be watching closely at how it goes I would think.  A typical camera run is understood to be 30k-40k units in analog but we don’t know any numbers for Digital. Is 10k good or bad for digital ? No one really shares this info. .

This release is more like the Scouts PVT run so don’t look at it as a shortage as such, it’s early access .

There is no question we in FPV are going to be finding things challenging for some time yet especially anything with an STM32, sensors and chipsets are going to face the same issues as any other silicon and as such we will be paying more for anything we want for some time.

The past 3 days they sold out in 2-3 mins..well this morning was different..either everyone that wanted them got em already..OR HDzero released more than 200. My plan was "all thumbs" this morning.. NONE of my info was in the system(profile, c.card, shipping), so I figured "ah, give it a shot anyway".
Didn't get "greedy", put "1" in my cart, re-installed my shipping/card info..
Hit "confirm"..(spinning ball, spinning ball, spinning ball).. the "out of stock" showed back up.. but it wasn't for the camera, it was for the CABLE..so I removed it from my cart..(spinning ball, spinning ball)..
ORDER CONFIRMED-
HOLY CRAP I'm thinking..NO WAY!!
Well, the page also still showed them available... so I figured. WHY NOT, press ur luck.. we'll, I put another in my cart, and got "order confirmed AGAIN! Checked my email.. there they were..
The still showed "add to cart"...but this time when hovering over the number.. it didn't show "# available".. figured glitch of some sort..
Continued to refresh, "add to cart" still showed.. it's 6:05, 6:09, 6:15... same.. I'm like WTF!!
I take a quick shower, 6:25.. it's still the same.. THEN, "out of stock"showed..

Apollo beeing better is pure speculation. So all is rumors or hearsay. Nothing proven so wait and see. And I guess there will be no major benefit, so I feel the community should buy HDzero cams to support the product and Carl.
The footage I could find, was DJI dvr and Foxeer also posted DJI dvr to the HDZero group. So everybody was like wtf

I actually ordered one by mistake this morning... I haven't even been following this whole release thing, just happened to click on the site and saw them available, "cool" and purchased. Now I see that these are still a prized commodity! lol. I'm in Norway so I'm sure it'll be a few weeks out but it's raining here anyway...

How long of shipping notifications take? I have the order confirmation but no shipping yet. Cheers!

Someone on FB said he ordered 5 cameras "by mistake" instead of 2 and didn't realise until after the order confirmation email came through. I have no idea how you order 5 by mistake. Surely you would notice that the total payment was way too much at checkout ($225 instead of $90). It's also interesting that he was successfully able to do that when the limit was supposedly 2 cameras per customer.

Oh ABSOLUTELY!!! I had sent HDzero a email about combining the two packages.. and just got a response.
Today at noon EDT is the last day. I’m gonna be curious how long it will take to sell out???
Any guesses?? I’m thinking since it’s a Saturday at noon and a lot of people got theirs.. I say 10-15 mins
