We came upon an area that you could fly some gnarly mountains and valleys for 2 weeks, 12 hours a day and never fly the same lines twice. Just an incredible place. Pretty darn excited. But, I won't get a chance to fly it until early to mid April. Also, we found another area that has a couple ghost towns that are rarely seen by the public because they are so remote. They too will make for some great viddy! So, standby, cuz you guys will see it here first....well second, cuz I will see it first. The ground is for dead people. Posts: 1,013 Threads: 11 Likes Received: 452 in 349 posts Likes Given: 372 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 16 Cool! There are so many spots that are essentially far enough from any path that we can fly them with none of the worries of flying urban areas. We are likely going to have to start ferreting these gems out. SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! For me I get into something HEAVILY and learn as much as I can about it, almost obsessing about it. But then eventually I get bored of it and move onto something else. Happens every time, I didn't think it would happen with this hobby though! I even strted a youtube channel and did edited videos for the first time in my life. But now..... now I've flown once in the last month and have really no motivation to fly again any time soon. It sucks too because I love this stuff! Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Maybe I should try long range flying or something new! IDK...... 'Ignore' is the route word of Ignorant. • Posts: 863 Threads: 43 Likes Received: 286 in 202 posts Likes Given: 12 Joined: Nov 2018 Reputation: 5 Maybe this isn't for you? Or maybe you need to keep building. Building quads makes the desire to fly even greater for me. The gratification of seeing something I built take off screaming just fuels my fire and desire.... Expand your horizons a bit. Or maybe go the opposite, take a long break with zero interaction with the hobby and see if it calls you. Just don't get in so deep that you have too much money tied up in the hobby to get out.... Deal Here's the Deal

At some point I will get back into it, but not as "hot" and see if it grounds or centers me. Do I enjoy it? If yes, then I might be less inclined to be impulsive within the discipline...but it becomes a part of who I am. There is nothing wrong with taking a break to find whether something speaks to you or is a passing fancy. There is no wrong answer. SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! But the virus, more precisely, the governor has thrown a wet blanket on that. He has shut down the state for 30 days. Since we would have been dry RVing I contemplated going anyway, but got concerned things might get tightened up even more and getting home might end up being a problem. So, we will hold off for awhile. Hope to get some flying in at this location before it starts to get too hot to fly. • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 Hope you get to go soon. Also hope this virus stuff dies out as quickly as it blew up but we will see lol. Anyways I love abandoned mines and such as I am a bit of a rock hound as well. • |
