0 PLASTIK 70 is different, you can solder through if necessary...

17 20-Dec-2016, 03:36 PM (This post was last modified: 20-Dec-2016, 03:38 PM by AndreyM.) MG Chemical Silicone conformal coating allows to solder through as well.
PLASTIK-70 is just an acrylic conformal coating lacquer, I strongly advise against using it on anything that gets as hot as the ESCs. The best conformal coating for ESCs is silicone.
And definitely don't use PlastiDip or other liquid electrical tape on them as well as it prevents heat transfer.

0 Today I have heat shrink around the ESC as it looks like that's the way to do it. But they are open in both end.
1 - Is this OK with the opening at each end for cooling
2 - Could this end be sealed with hot glue(gun)

17 I seal the ends either with long-cure epoxy or hot-glue. Hot glue does not adhere to silicone heatshrink well, so it will prevent from splashes but not submerging. If I want to submerge ESCs - I use epoxy.

34 I dipped everything in Plasti dip, even the escs. They are always cold when I land, so I'm not to worried about heat. If they burn it isn't a big loss anyway as they are just some old littlebees. The downside with plastic dip imo is that it acts like a skin, and there is a possibility to trap water under it.
I heard someone used clear coat with good results.
CorrosionX is also used but from what I heard it is very sticky when it is cured, making dust and dirt sticking to it

34 They got a rubber paint on biltema than someone uses, but I guess it is similar to Plasti dip

0 Thanx for the ideas.
Finished my build yesterday so I'll see what I end up doing.
