Hobbywing 40A - Resets Mid-Flight
#1
Hello everyone,

I'm stumped.  I built a new quad using the HW 40A X-Rotor 20x20 two weeks ago.  It was flying great until today.  I would lift off and cruise around (less than 50% throttle), then after a few seconds, the quad would go crazy and crash.  The flight controllers resets whenever it does this.  So far, I've tried the following and I've been getting the same results:

- Switched to a new flight controller
- Used different ribbon connectors
- Resoldered new battery leads
- Changed capacitor
- Resoldered all the motors

I'm 99% sure it's the ESC that's gone bad at this point.  My question is, what could be wrong with the ESC?  I've only been using it for two weeks.  No crashes or crazy voltage spikes whatsoever.  I've been using the same type of ESC for all my quads, and this hasn't happened before.

Thanks in advance!

i use this esc too and it works perfect so far. probably its a faulty product, i believe you should contact the seller, the same esc on your other quads is a good argument that you are experienced with the product...

i would get a close look on it, any solderball, rest of wire... any signs of a burned fet. all feta well attached?

is your xt60 clean and does fit well? no broken cable.. to sort out its not a current issue

Yeah, this ESC has always been my go-to, which is why it's so perplexing my latest one performed like this. Bad luck, I guess. I contacted HW support. Just hoping they'll reply.

Thanks, man!
