hello
i actually had an account at this site a while back, but I have completely forgotten all the necessary info, so...
I got started with quads about 2 years ago; though, at the time, I was only interested in the whole photo/video via drone thing. Around the time that began to get really boring (I guess a little more than a year in), I happened to meet a few guys who were really into building and flying their own tiny and FAST quads.
I wasn't a great pilot with DJI phantoms boasting GPS, etc., so I'm not really surprised that making really, REALLY slow progress flying FPV. While I've mostly transitioned from LOS to FPV for most things, I am having trouble flying out of horizon and into air mode in FPV. At the same time, I've spent a lot of time trying to build a working quad, but first I've had to wrestle with the basics of tools, home-based construction (no such thing as too many fire extinguishers), the ABCs of electricity, and a crapload of other stuff I could have used far more in high school than three years of Latin. So far I've finshed two, but family stuff has interrupted the build of a smoke stopper (without which, I'm not plugging in either).
that's about it. nice to meet everybody.
