I'm a long time drone enthusiast and teacher who now teaches a drone licensing class in a Central NY high school. I've gotten a grant for over $36,000 to bring in lots of drones, radios, and FPV headsets, as well as soldering equipment and all the batteries and chargers I need. It's very exciting, but let me assure you, high school students can bust a drone like nobody else! In the first few weeks of school, they've already managed to nuke 2 batteries by letting the balance connector drop into the fan shrouds, and fried two motors on two separate quads in the process. Nothing like a shorted battery to burn a drone motor up.
I'm currently trying to learn the ins and outs of the digital FPV systems, and have a ProTek 2.5 (pusher) HD and DJI goggles to match up to it. That's the reason I'm actually here. You'll see my inquiry posts about that hot mess shortly.
