Hi all

Hi, I'm Brian, I'm a Virgo, my favorite color is plaid and I like medium walks along the beach at . . . OH $#!+ . . . wrong forum . . . 8^}

Been playing with these flying machines for only about five years now. Got into FPV after watching a few of Nick's vids with him screaming through his house, and knew I had to figure out how to do that. I had a WLToys V686G, but had a bit of trouble Whoopin through the house and chair diving with it . . . so I got a Boldclash cam/canopy to plug into my B03, and the addiction started. I found the Silverware build it yourself junkies, and that just made the addiction even worse. Then, I got an original Mobula when they first came out & was ruined for life, and hooked on brushless . . . build it yourself brushless . . .

I've got a nice collection of FPV Whoops,  a pair of each of the 65s, 75s & 85s in older brushed with B03 Pro boards & Beecore/Silverware boards, and since the Mobula, a good collection of brushless, and throw in a few 95s in that group too. Also threw together a couple Picks with Gnarly frames, and was surprised to see they could even fly without ducts . . . they can break apart w/o ducts real easy too . . . at least for me . . .

Been hanging out at RCG for about four years, but things have gotten kinda quiet there for a bit. Hoping that's just from Summer & playing outside, and quadcopters aren't starting to fade out of fashion. Winter Whoop season is getting close for us Northerners, and I'm hoping things start picking up all over the quad & FPV forums as people start spending more time inside & still want to keep on flying.

This looked like it would be another good place to help appease my multi motor addiction and see what else is going on with the quads. I rarely if ever look at Faceplant Book unless I get desperate for info, so this forum was a nice find for me. I've ran into tons of problems getting involved with these toys, have a good collection of dead Crazybees & Beta AIOs, and if I see someone with one of the same, I've pretty much found solutions to most of them, and am more than willing to pass that info down the pike . . . or at least where a new replacement is . . . and is on sale . . . I also hate to pay way too much for quad stuff, but will pay more for better quality, on sale too, of course . . .

Welcome to intoFPV.

A mix bag of pilots here from micros to heavy lifters and even wings.

Thanks.

So, the usual collection of joystick jockeys who like micros . . . I should feel right at home . . .

I always like a snack after some heavy lifting too, although my back doesn't like the heavy or lifting. The Ranch Wings from Quaker Steak & Lube were my favorite, but they stopped making their Ranch sauce a bit ago, so I have to settle for somebody else's . . . 8^}

Welcome  Smile

From my perspective, this is the BEST forum that I have ever been
involved with regardless of the subject matter or topic. The members
are knowledgeable, supportive, and very helpful. Plus, there is a lot
of interesting commentary within the threads. For me, it is sort of
like a big comunity of friends.

Growing up, my father would take me, and later, us to the different local airfields when the r/c plane clubs would meet there. Most of the flyers were guys, and, haha, old like my Dad. When I started with these quads, I was years older than him at the time, so now, I'm the old one.

Everything was gas, or fuel powered then, including later, my entry level plane with the double strings for controls, the r/c stuff was hard core expensive. I do remember as a kid, being treated very nicely when I'd ask questions of the guys flying, and finding out stuff I used that helped me get mine going. It was interesting stuff & I always enjoyed going to those.

I've been on the net since the mid 90s & have been on a lot of forums. I've found that most people, from all over the world are pretty decent, helpful, and don't have a lot of tolerance for the bottom feeding 2%ers who have no loyalty, and are ready to infiltrate any and every group they can get their feet in the doorway trying to cause trouble and aggravation. The good groups are also usually good at pointing that door out to them again so they have no problem, if they're quick, for it to not hit them in the ash on the way out . . .

I've "met" a good bunch of hobbyists that have been into these little flying machines a lot longer than me, who have helped me out tremendously, and I certainly wouldn't be enjoying it anywhere near as much as i do without them sharing their knowledge and passion for the hobby.

A lot of the people into this are really into electronics, and there's a good bit of electronics involved in these things. I'm computers, had my company 20+ years, but just know enough electronic stuff to get myself in trouble pretty good. Also, if something odd, weird, strange, unheard of before happens . . . check with me, it's probably happened at least twice . . . those things wake up, eat breakfast, and start looking for me . . . and make me appreciate even more those people who are way smarter than me and help me out . . .

Looks like a good stop in my travels around the net when I'm thinking quads . . . yea, it's a lot . . . and looks like it'll be an enjoyable one.
