Hello from sunny CA

Howdy everyone!  I'm new to FPV, starting only about 5 months ago.  It's a weird feeling.......I wish someone would have warned me about the black hole this hobby would create in my wallet, but at the same time I wouldn't trade it for anything!  I even gave up golf to spend more time learning and flying!

I used to play first person shooters (Call of Duty) on my Xbox for years and years, so picking up a controller (excuse me.....radio) and flying wasn't a totally new experience.  I got the hang of the controls pretty quick.  Unfortunately for me, I stunk at playing on the Xbox and I'm pretty bad here too!  I still have the same "panic" reactions when I get out of position or something unexpected happens.  lol

A friend of mine sold me one of his custom builds and I am in the process of purchasing parts and pieces to do my very first DIY build.  I'm looking forward to reading the gobs of information that you guys have shared in past posts and hopefully gain some new friends in the process.  Take care guys and happy flying!

Joe

Welcome o/
Don't worry. Everyone who starts has similar experiences. The good news is that if you practice (and crash) over grassy areas, low chance of breaking anything besides a prop unless you go down really hard.
