Hello
#1
Hello, I joined a while ago already, but haven't introduced myself.
I have a Chimera5 that I built from parts and a Geprc Mark4 6inch that I'am also building myself.
I am new to the hobby in almost every way so its been a pretty steep learning curve, but so far so good.

Here's a tip, find some people in your area to fly with. The hobby is much easier with friends. If you don't have that this forum is a great resource as well as many discord servers. Have fun.

It sounds like a good idea to have someone to fly with. I haven't found anyone in my area.
To complicate matters, I fly when I can; mostly it is a "spur of the moment" thing which
makes coordinating with others quite a challenge; if I even had someone to go with.
However, if you can find someone, then go for it.

The strategy I use is to find someone interested in FPV and give them a piece of equipment. A transmitter, drone, goggle... doesn't matter. That is usually enough to put them over the edge and get into the hobby.

Hi ETX,

Believe it or not I have given drones to others. So far, they either them to one of their grandkids or
just simply can't get into it. Ok, most of the people that I know didn't grow up with a game controller
in their hand.

I even tried to get our son, who is 33, into it, but he just wasn't interested. I was even going to
build us a set of "twin" quads just to play around with, but he would rather play a video game on his
XBox than fly something "real".  Go figure.

On the other hand, I am ok with it.
