Don't even tell me you don't game. 

I can count on one hand the games that I really got into.  I remember Alpha Centauri was like the ultimate civ sim I played.  Then I got into the whole PC series for Ghost Recon. Even started a "non-clan" clan with our own website I designed from Macromedia Flash (lol remember that?).  We were the House of Ronin LOLL I kid you not ... HoR!!  We got way into that for all 3 installments on the PC.  The fact we played with spec ops guys who taught us proper tactics didn't help fuel our fantasy that we were, in fact, all spec ops guys lol.

But then there's Ark.  Holy cow.  I don't think I ever played a game so much for so long.  I'm sure in a couple months I'll disappear from here and you can pretty much guess I got lost in a game of Ark ... yes it will last months.  The short if it is you wake up naked (with undies LOL) on a island ... with dinosaurs.  Do whatever you want.  But do it quick cos either you're gonna get die from thirst or hunger or most likely get eaten by an annoying dinosaur.  It's not uncommon to spawn at a dino looking you in the face and biting your head off as soon as you gain control lollll so annoying.

But the rub of this game ... it is persistent.  Meaning, if you log off, your character will literally pass out on the spot.  LOL you even hear him / her yawning.  At this point you may not be playing but your sleeping character and everything you own (including tamed dinos) are still playing.  It can be attacked, trolled, I can throw poop at it (you actually can) even.  THIS changes everything.

What's more, you can teleport from "island" (server) to "island" (server) bringing with you your buds or in most cases, entire batallions of players and even more of their crazy overpowered dinos.  The battles are eeeppppiiiccc.

I played differently ... afterall, the House of Ronin (LOL yes again) has a reputation to uphold of being the non-clan clan.  We became masters of exploiting game glitches to imprison players LOLLL.  We made a complete science out of it tracking stats and best ways to incapacitate a game character.  See, if you are killed, you simply respawn.  If you are captured, your game are belong to us!!   BAHAHAHA

Wow, good to see someone on here who plays aswell, I routinely have LAN parties at my house where I invite up to 10 friends over and we play for an entire day. Lately in this we have been playing UT2004, CS:GO and TF2. I personally play ARK with my wife most evenings, we have our own server that we play on together and it's quite fun.

We used to play a lot of Minecraft together, I'd like to set up a server again and get back into it actually. I also have RUST which I haven't had the time to start playing yet, but it looks quite fun. I also used to play competitive CS:GO, but that was a different time in my life when I had 8 hours a day to practice lol.

I play WoW with my son and daughter from time to time, and I play Elder Scrolls....that's all this old guys does for now for video games other than Formula 1.

You PVP MMO guys will know why.  But for those that don't know, you can use websites like Battlemetrics to look up steam names effectively being able to track them down.  When you play a persistent MMO like Ark, being able to track down enemies is key. You can find out their home base (i.e., whats server they are on) and do proper intel gathering and recon before the assault. You can do so much with that information actually. So we started using "123" as our steam name with default no avatars ... like ghosts lollllllll

Alright guys all this talk and I couldn't resist.  If you may be interested, I'm setting up shop on NA-OfficialPVP-Island244.  Very low pop server.  It shall be the HQ to my shenanigans LOL.  Assuming I don't already get wiped by tonight.

I'll see if we can play on it tonight... Being in Australia we tend to get 300+ ping on anything overseas :/

Oh sick!! All of the servers are in Germany so shouldn't be too bad - I played with Aussie guys before. I just stepped out of the game finished building a wood house which is ok for now. Man I warn you it is a GRINDY game. Also all our work could be destroyed by some griefer at any time I'm seeing more 123's log on. If you go on, spawn in "South 1" and just type "intoFPV" lolll. I will set up a fire in the area so we can meet up. Otherwise people will think it's a server recon or invasion and start looking for us.

No problem, I have played official servers before, It's just been a few years!

I won't be changing my name though i'm sorry.... Do you use discord or teamspeak or anything? I can invite you to my discord or teamspeak servers. I probably won't be able to come on until 7pm AEST (GMT+10) due to work and then exercise routines :/

Oh so you already know this sadistic game cool lol! No worries if we don't meet up tonight, we will at some point. If you want, you can play how you like and I will provide you supplies and you can use my base (lol its a 2x2) and stuff. I kind of have this routine to get to metal fast lol.

So far I only seen 2 123's (not including me) and 1 normal name guy. Battlemetrics show very low pop ... but could be because its a megatribe base or something I have not done any recon - but also not seen anybody but I remain pretty hidden (no fire at night, etc). Zero global chatter.

Oh yea invite me to your DC I got one too I just gotta find it lol. Also we can just chat over steam too if its just us two.

Definitely some sort of tribe made this server their hq or something cos tek teleporter sound was going off last night. They are probably looking for me thinking im some forward recon but all they will find if they find anything at all is my crappy wood house. It's located at around 75,43 and I set all the pins to "1235" if you need anything or you can sleep there too if you want.

Go to South 1 by the beaver dams and go up the mountain where I am facing (I'm standing on the rock) ...



It might be hard to see at first but you will see a small 2x2. Damnit I made my hands freakishly huge lol wtf ...



It's a cozy place lol. Uber efficiency!



I'll be adding two forges up top, a smithy down below and the 2nd floor will have 2 crop plots and compost bins. 2x2 dino pen 4 walls high will hold at least a trike, ptera, and dodo farm. And finally some irrigation.
