Unfortunately everyone has to pay again, and it's twice the price of the first version. However for anyone that has FPV Freerider you can get the new FPV Freerider Recharged for 50% off. Just open the download link you were sent when you bought the original game. The 50% off deal is only good for the next week. https://fpv-freerider.itch.io/fpv-freerider-recharged What do you guys think about this game?? • Posts: 60 Threads: 22 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 5 I think it's better than Liftoff which is $20. I've downloaded every update for liftoff so far and liftoff still sucks to fly. Anyone who's grabbed this new version of Freerider think its better than liftoff? Real 3D trees instead of image cards that disappear as you try and fly around them? Even with the old version, FPV Freerider seems way more realistic and less floaty. I've been able to fly around in it and put up pretty fast race times. I love to share and help people! Flying Mini Quad is the best! • Posts: 62 Threads: 21 Likes Received: 3 in 2 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Feb 2016 Reputation: 3 (16-Apr-2016, 08:52 AM)fpvmonkey Wrote: I think it's better than Liftoff which is $20. If you are not sure about this, Just grab the demo and try it out, either way, $10 is nothing, I broke way more $$ worth then that the first few times I flew FPV (because I didn't use a sim enough).. Supports Mac, Windows and Linux which covers pretty much everyone i guess (not Android though) • Posts: 114 Threads: 17 Likes Received: 68 in 28 posts Likes Given: 27 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 12 I started with FPVFreerider way back, but the better I got at flying in real life the more problem I had with its physics. I think LiftOff is much closer to the feel of actual FPV race/freestyle, tho still not perfect. The new version (Recharged) of FPVFreerider has much better graphics, but unfortunately the physics/flight feel is still poor, especially when flying at faster speeds. • Posts: 36 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 21 in 11 posts Likes Given: 19 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 2 (16-Apr-2016, 05:50 PM)Jordan Marinov Wrote: I started with FPVFreerider way back, but the better I got at flying in real life the more problem I had with its physics. I agree that while liftoff isn't nearly perfect, but to me the physics feel more realistic than in fpvfreerider. Plus they have gone to the trouble of adding fully changeable pid's, expo/curves/rates, frame, motors, battery, props, (which can greatly change how the whole sim feels) and a pretty fun map builder with an active community who share maps. This recharged version just looks like a bunch of detailed maps imo. • Posts: 69 Threads: 15 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 5 FPVfreerider was the first sim i tried, and I used it on my phone with a PS3 controller linked. Really helped me get a hang of Acro before trying it on my real quad and also tried aerobatics on it and it helped me get a hang of things. Even though I still love this sim, the physics are a bit off, even though I have found the settings to make if feel closer to my ZMR, it just doesnt get there. Nut I still use it for fun. Just downloaded the new version, gonna check it out. I also have Liftoff, Hotprops and Formula FPV London. Liftoff feels real but I just cant get it to convince me. A friend of mine told me one needs to modify an XML file to activate some physics features that bring the sim up to par. Also, even though they let you change props, batt and motors, I cant see any difference in flight. Hotprops is fun. I like the online idea, but I just cant get it to connect with anyone. Now, my favorite is Formula FPV. They might need some little tweaking, but the quad is great right off the bat, graphics are wonderfull (need some power in your PC) and the tracks (2) are fun. The physics here are damn spot on, and I believe its because they use (maybe im wrong) the Unreal Engine (or maybe thats Hotprops..?) Once I try the new FPV Freerider ill get bck with my impressions. • Posts: 28 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: May 2016 Reputation: 0 06-May-2016, 01:40 AM (This post was last modified: 06-May-2016, 01:46 AM by raid.) Also to me LiftOff seems more realistic, especially when doing acro moves such as split-s, flips and so on. Did you try the Dubai track?? https://hyphpv.com/tracks/ I've spent few hours yesterday trying to do a full lap ) Anyway, the new maps in FPV freerider recharged looks better than LiftOff, but the custom tracks with gates and flags are the best to practice, so right now LiftOff wins hands down. • |
