Foxeer Box 2 Resembles GoPro Session

Does anyone know if you can change out the battery in the Foxeer?  That option for me has value.

Thanks for the post.

It looks like the same casing as the original box so probably not. And the original box started at $160 new. Now that theyre the only 4k mini hd cam on the market it will probably be the same or higher.

Also new sessions are out of stock almost everywhere. Where are you getting ths $70 figure from?

Albert kims video seems to be the best sample video out there. The old box was pretty good. So this box 2 should match or be better than the session 5 if they can tweak it a little more

I bought a Session (4) on Ebay, new, not refurbished in August for 77.00 with free shipping, I posted about it HERE.  Back then Sessions were running 70-99.00 new.  There are Session 5s out there for 160-200.00, just check Ebay and even Amazon from time to time.   The Session (4) are getting harder to find since they haven't been in production for years, but there seems to be plenty of the Session 5s for now.  Obviously the day will come when the whole Session market, 4&5 will be gone, but that gives Foxeer time to improve on their product.  And I believe Foxeer is more likely to get it right than some of the other manufacturers.

Box 2 is sharper and crisper...but it does have sharpness artifacts in it too...wondering if Kim dialed up the sharpness.  If Kim is comparing apples to apples with settings, the Box 2 is better.  Hopefully it's an unbiased comparison.

Looking through the comments, he's asked Foxeer to add 2.7K/30fps with SuperView and is currently awaiting a new firmware update from them. Sounds like he has some contacts at Foxeer and is able to pull a few strings. It will be interesting to see if they do add some kind of SuperView because I was led to believe in the past that GoPro had a patent on that particular technology.

Albert is stating that the retail price will be in the region of $120 to $130.

It's the same size as the Box 1 which means it won't fit a Session 5 mount.

Superview is important but not a deal killer.....but I think you are correct on the patent by Go Pro.

Price point seems in the hunt for sure.

I figured that, and that is a big negative.  But if Foxeer comes out with a mount that works with the Go Pro system, that would be great.  I have tried 3 different printed mounts for the Kraken, all added to jello.  2 were TPU and I don't remember the medium for the 3rd.  The factory Go Pro mount went a long way to killing the jello.

Wow that's cheap. I think the og box was $150 ish when released. I wonder if they're planning on making enough to not only keep costs down but to also meet market demand as the box was out of stock everywhere pretty much a couple months in

I'm pretty disappointed.  It's way off from a GoPro Session or Session 5.  In fact, it is not as nice of an image as my Foxeer Legend 1.

Still a lot oversharpened to my eye.

Yeah, and the WDR is extreme. It's like the loudness wars in music all over again.

I was really curious about this one, but unless they give you sufficient settings to correct those crazy defaults then I've probably just lost interest.

The ground is for dead people.

With all respect, that's not superview at all, just a wide angle lens... and yea the over-sharpening looks way too much...
