Am I missing something or misunderstanding this!?

Not missing anything, well known for a while that Flysky has the lowest latency protocol. They just haven't produced a top end transmitter anyone was interested in until now with the release of the Paladin.

Those latency tests are being done on the bench with the transmitter right next to the receiver, so it's not a real world test. A proper test would be to see which system loses more latency the further away the model gets from the transmitter. I've read reports that the Flysky can have some horrible latency at distance compared to other manufacturer systems but I can't verify that because I don't own any Flysky equipment.

One thing that Flysky does excel on though is range on the 2.4GHz frequency. Flysky gear has always been known to get much better range than the FrSky gear on 2.4GHz, but Flysky will never be able to compete with Crossfire or the FrSky R9 900MHz systems for range and reliability.

Everyone talks about latency. But in the real world, how many of us really is even effected. Mere mortals we are.

THIS I think I've noticed first hand. When I flying pretty far way it feels like I'm getting frame drops almost.... then also some crazy delay!  I play fighting games a lot (well  I  used to) so I would hope I'd be slightly more sensitive to any delay in something like this.... I wsn't sure if what I was feeling was just my imagination, but based on you saying this I'm thinking maybe that's correct.

I notcied a HUGE difference from PPM to IBUS flying LOS (of course there is a pretty big difference between PPm and IBUS though I get that)... not so much FPV...

I don't see any reason the delay on the camera and the delay on the TX woudl be cumulative, so when flying FPV whichever has the highest latency is the latency you will feel, and only the difference between the two would be added to that... If I'm thinking about this correctly anyway.

Where I noticed latency: When trying to hover and do a flip or roll inside of the living room of an apartment xD PPM impossible..... iBUS pleasantly surprised!

Yes, there is a significant latency between PPM vs IBUS or SBUS. Real-life for PPM is 81ms while SBUS is 27ms. IBUS is even less in the 15-18ms.

But going from 27ms to 15-18ms, most of us would not notice. I am pretty sure that there are guys out there that can tell the difference. I used to play a lot of FPS and going from a TV (high latency) to a monitor (low latency) it was night and day.

Yeah I play fighting games on PC and some of the links are literally 1 frame links to o combos or to interrupt a block string etc. (I'm not sure what 1 frame @ 60 FPS is in MS I know I figured it out at one point in my life but I don't remember)

I tried the same game on console and it was unplayable for me. Even with a PC monitor (which I thik makes less latency on a console IDK much about console gamin just that 30FPS is whack).

BTW I'm not arbitrarily saying 1 frame link combos and interruptions. For instance i in Mortal Kombat X Dvorahs block string is f112 (square square triangle) run cancel 2 and it's a 1 frame link because f112 run cancel is +2 on block and standing 2 is a 7 frame attack and the quickest attack in the game is 6 frames which means if I'm + 2 and I do a 7 frame attack perfectly on frame then the opponent only has 5 frames to attack.... and again the fastest move is 6 frames so he is 1 frame too slow IF I'm perfect. And once I got the muscle memory I barely every messed it up.

although that's a fair point as well, with muscle memory the delay didn't matter when doing a combo as long as you don't use anything BUT muscle memory (such as your eyes) totime the combo. I guess it's more important on defense in this context as that requires reaction and timing with your eyes to your fingers....

Sorry I went all FGC for a second..... I do wanna say though I'd be very curious to do a blind test between ibus sbus and PPM.

FGC has become to crazy for me. You have some crazy reflex. I can barely throw a Dragon Punch anymore. I used to build my own Joystick a long time ago. Would at some point got back into it. But too many hobbies.

The FGC is growing, and that kinda pushed me away.... I like to play the game and get just grind.... but so many people will just beat you one time then leave. I can't handle that shit lol. If I lose I wanna play again and again.....

Like how you gonna play one match then quit GRRR just thinking about it gets me frustrated!!! I mean how many time I've won the first match then lost the next 5.... or how many times I lose the first match and win the next 10.

Actually one time I was in a match I was down 9-0..... At the end of the entire set it was 20 - 11....  As in I had 20 wins. After bodying me for 9 games straight I came back and got to 20 wins with him only winning 2 more matches! So if someone is gonna just win then leave that is out of control frustrating for me!!!

I'm more of an NRS player, don't really like SF... I play injustice and the mortal kombat games.... I got into tekken 7 for a while but..... well... I could write a theisis on why I don't like that game. Mainly because ofwhat I said.... in tekken people do that EVEN MORE from my experience..... and Tekken is the worst game for that kind of thing... ever character has liek 100 or more moves so to learn how to fight against each character you have to really play against that character a lot.... and if everyone just quits after 1 match it makes it impossible to get anywhere ESPECIALLY in tekken for that reason. Tekken 7 is an awesome game, but it just takes a LOT of experience to learn it, and if noone will stay for more than 1 or 2 matches then it's impossible.... everyone just wants to rank up in that game... and that's kinda lame.

Oh and don't get me wrong, I can't hit a 1 frame link reacting every time in a defensive situation where REACTION and timing is essential.... the 1 frame link I was talkign abotu is a block string that I am on the offense so it's just muscle memory..... I've smoked too much to have that good of a reaction time xD
