Today JB announced Flowstate is being available for preorder Blu-ray. Two versions, a regular one and a 3hr all footage “commemorative” edition also. It’s gonna be approx. 3 weeks before shipping, but will also be available from some streaming services. Time for me to swing by Goodwill and see if I can find a Blu-ray player ?? • Posts: 4,073 Threads: 75 Likes Received: 2,548 in 1,858 posts Likes Given: 3,949 Joined: May 2021 Reputation: 121 Didn’t even know this was a thing. I’ll hafta keep my eyes out for it on streaming services. I also didn’t know that things were still being released on a physical media like blu-ray. Dangerous operations. I think they have probably decided to just release it on a hard medium out of desperation before the documentary gets out-dated because some of the content was shot almost 2 years ago. Putting it out on Blu-ray probably lowers the risk of piracy while guaranteeing some revenue, although it won't stop that happening entirely if someone is determined enough to rip the Blu-ray disc and then share it in the public domain. • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 Yea ... I spent many hours looking through the VHS tape section back in the day It's now a charity shop. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 I remember begging my Father to take us to the local vhs rental store in the late 80’s to early 90’s where we had a monthly rental subscription and we would flip through a large album deciding on a movie for the weekend. I could spend all day in there browsing through the entire movie catalogue. Every now and then I would point at a specific album they would never let me look at and the shop rep would smile and say thats for kids Movie selected, can’t wait to get home. Sometimes the damn vhs player at home would not play the movies in colour or some crap. Stop, rewind the tape. Pull out the vhs head cleaning cassette, put some cleaning fluid in it and play it through the vhs player. Fingers crossed, it works. Used to watch the movie twice before returning it back to the store. The local video rental store had a weekend deal for 5 movies. I used to love when I’d find a movie that was long enough that it came on multiple vhs tapes (like Stephen King’s The Stand). Even more entertainment for the same price. I’m pretty sure that over the course of a couple years, my friend Joey & I rented the entire catalog of NES, SNES, and Sega games. I also miss music stores. I do actually like physical media. Dangerous operations. Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about. I bought my first Stalker game from Blockbuster back in late 2007 (if memory serves me correctly). The guy behind the desk asked me what sort of hardware I had, said it needed top end graphics hardware to run it. I had an 8800GT which ran it quite well. At the time, the best game I'd ever played. Before that (long before that), we (my parents) had a video store membership. We would go there on a Friday night and rent a movie. Favourites included Little Shop of Horrors, Goonies, Ghostbusters and the usual stuff like Superman (1,2,3). Still got VHS and Betamax players in the cupboard, along with a handful of movies to watch on them. I'm with Lemonyleprosy on missing music stores. I bought so much Vinyl and CDs when i was DJ'ing, long ago. Also had the Technics setup and some nice Eltax Speakers. Console games wise, there was a store not far from me. My first console was a Sega Master system, then a Game Gear, then a SNES. I had an original Playstation and N64 at some point too, then a Gamecube. But primarily I've always been a PC gamer. i try not to game anymore. I have blown (by my own calculations) about 3 years of my life playing games obsessively (2000+ hrs in Skyrim and 2000+ hrs in Fallout 4, and lots of hours in loads of other games). This is probably a large part of the reason I have no gf, kids or life. Tarrance Howard putting his own money up for the lynch pin project.. pretty cool. With Discovery and all these movie developers using “Quads/drones” as cameras maybe more innovation can created.. Anyone watch some of the new AFL this summer? Along with the camera on cables they had a quad flying around the players during the plays..looked kinda like the DJI fpv but had weird antennas on it.. anyone know what it was? The live feed was not that great. • Posts: 16 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 4 in 4 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jul 2022 Reputation: 0 I want the blue ray full version but don't own a VCR someone rip the disk and let me send them a screenshot of my purchase receipt for the disk I can't use • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Own a VCR to play a Blueray? You need a blueray player. Or you mean use a VCR to rip a BlueRay disk? That will kill the resolution of the video. • Posts: 72 Threads: 13 Likes Received: 4 in 4 posts Likes Given: 13 Joined: May 2021 Reputation: 1 (15-Jul-2022, 08:56 PM)WOKESNAIL Wrote: I want the blue ray full version but don't own a VCR someone rip the disk and let me send them a screenshot of my purchase receipt for the disk I can't use Yes!!! I'm glad I live in a first world country that has reasonable punishments for victimless crimes. The ground is for dead people. • |
