Flash Banggood Openlog with blackbox firmware
#1
Has anyone succeeded in flashing bangggood's Openlog with blackbox firmware? I can't get it flashed. Tried different arduino boards. Tried flashing via SPI. Still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

yes i have done that some time ago. the arduino bootloader (or whatever bootloader) is not installed from bg, so you need an usbasp flashing tool to connect to the mosi/miso (and other) pins to flash the arduino bootloader. after that you can normally flash the blackbox firmware.

this one works for me

that said, it works but i'm having this weird "bug" where my first log is always scrambled. i work around this by always arming the copter for 2sec, and after that it works normal. by normal i mean: at 1khz logging rate i get lots of dropouts. this might not be caused by the fact i purchased the hardware from banggood..

I have the same problem, cant flash it, so I guess I'm missing the bootloader. How often can you write to the SD card with looptimes of 250? Im trying to get the openlog with default firmware to work, but so far I'm only seeing missing frames in blackbox explorer.

my config file on the SD card looks like this:

250000
baud

Im running 250000 set up for blackbox on serial port 2 on an F3 FC

Ok, so it looks like I got the logging to the openlog with original firmware working. I used Oscars guide (Thank you Oscar!) and in order to fix the missing frames, I had to set the logging rate to 20%. Is this too low for tuning? You only get 1/5 of the data and I guess much can happen in between
