3 OK, no RSSI with Crossfire, switched off.
Re-uploading the default font got me a good display, great, but LQ just shows 0: 0 now, flashing. Maybe there is something I need to do in the Boxer Open TX? Not finding a good answer online, yet.

786 In the Receiver tab, make sure you have the RSSI Channel set to "Disabled" and the RSSI_ADC switch set to OFF. Then click the "Save and Reboot" button at the bottom.
If that doesn't fix the issue, please run the "dump", "diff all", and "status" commands in the Betaflight Configurator CLI tab and copy/paste the results back here.

3 @SnowLeopardFPV "...and the RSSI_ADC switch set to OFF" was the key. I had noticed that the RSSI Channel in the Rx tab would disable on its own and I read something about that but I never continued on to set RSSI_ADC OFF as well. I like RSSI better for ranging but LQ is useful too and it is working now. With that and battery voltages I'm good.
I did fly the quad today! I flies really well and I like the video feed and the ability to turn it off and keep it cool is pretty nice. Ooh, I was flying out pretty far at 25mW output, need to bump that up for big air!

786 If you want some indication of actual signal strength, add the "RSSI dBm value" OSD element. Just don't use the raw "RSSI value" OSD element. Likewise, if you want to know how much external interference noise from other 900MHz devices in the area that your RC link is having to try and deal with, add the "RSNR value" OSD element.
