Capacitor for 10" 8S build
#1
Hello everyone,

I amp building a 10" quad and using the AIKON 8IN1 ESC. It comes with two 50V 470uf capacitors but I am afraid it won't be enough?

I use 2200uf 35V on my 5" quads with 6S batteries...

What would you recommend? 4700uf ?

Best

i'd probably run a single bigger cap, or what some do is put smaller caps (these 470uf's could work) between each ESC lead rather than (or in addition to) the battery lead having a cap.

Thanks. If you were to go with a single bigger cap, what would you use?

on 8s builds I'd go higher with the volts. use a 50V. I never put anything below 1'000uF on it and i recommend you use good quality. the best i've seen so far are the japanese Rubycon

Look at capacitor datasheets.

common low ESR for quads
Panasonic FM
Panasonuc FC
Elna RJF

etc..

1. Voltage. Easy. Caps come in...
16V.. ok 3S
25V.. ok 5S
35V.. ok 6S
50V.. ok 10S

2. compare datasheets. ripple current. impedence.

3. dont go crazy. Dont need 9000uF. Battery cannot fluctuate so much. Most important is quality of cap.. and how close to ESC.

4. 10" is ok with 4in1, but everybody doing XClass use individual ESC. Much better cooling and less noisy.

5. 90% of cap that come with ESC are garbage
