Got into the hobby a couple of months back, I do have a decent amount of CP helicopter experience from back in the day and whilst this experience definitely translates when it comes to control, it does not at all when it comes to tuning.
I started out with a tiny whoop, and hopped into a BNF Mark 5 which flies fantastic. But I always loved building my heli's, so I figured I may as well build a quad, figured it'd be a good learning experience for when I inevitably begin being riskier and crashing.
So I built up a 6S, went with the following:
FC itself has been flashed to 4.4.2, and ELRS is on 3.3. Figured since everyone recommends to go with the Supafly tunes, that I'd try one of those out. So I loaded up the 5" tune, adjusted it based on my battery/motor specs (as suggested on their site).
Went to go for my maiden flight, and it flies, but like shit if I'm being honest. I'm assuming it's tune related, it definitely sounds tune related. On any yaw/pitch I'm getting what I can only describe as a chirpy, grinding noise followed by oscillations, I recorded a short video demonstrating this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0gVk1YEjzU
Motors come down, very warm, way too hot for just simply hovering around for ~30 seconds.
I've already started to dive into the JB series for PID tuning, from the research I've done so far it seems to be related to D-Term being too high (although I could be wrong). I've attempted nudging this down by from 1.3 down to 1.2, down to 1.1.
On a side note, I also tested with a completely stock betaflight profile (non supafly tune), thinking that maybe starting off completely from scratch maybe easier, however the flight characteristics were essentially identical.
Hoping someone with more knowledge than me can help me narrow this, otherwise I'll be watching videos for the next few hours which isn't a big deal either

- Speedybee f405 v3 stack
- Velox 2207.5 1950kv motors

- O3 Unit
