I have a EKEN (go pro clone) I have put together ESC / motors (castle creations) on 1/10 and 1/8 RC cars so i know how to solder/ heatshrink .. just want the best advice since im new to the quads. Thanks for any help and support. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 No you don't need FPV equipments if you are flying LOS. Your build is pretty much what Oscar listed. Why not just follow his build? • Posts: 17 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 7 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 0 Ok THanks Are there any cameras that can mounted like the FPV camera for recording / using SD card ? If I’m using the flysky Tx do i use the rx that comes with it ? • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 • Posts: 17 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 7 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 0 Thanks ! What’s a cheap entry level tx/rx ? Will the flysky A6 bind with the receiver Oscar used ? • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 No, Oscar used frsky. You will need a Flysky compatible rx. • Posts: 122 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 77 in 48 posts Likes Given: 93 Joined: Aug 2017 Reputation: 4 I'd look at the runcam split 2, it solves some of the problems the 1st one had. Flying: Talon 6S 6" 2407s 381g no bat, Martian 3, 5" 2205s sooo heavy + gopro session 5 573g AUW, Aurora 5" 2205s 280g no bat, Druckbaer 3" 1404s 172g AUW 3S 550, BQE Megapixel 2.5" 1107s 139g AUW 3S 550, BabyHawk R 2.5" 164g AUW 3S 550 (stock except microeagle, CRSF, 2.5" arms) and maybe 3 more, for now... • Posts: 1,504 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 944 in 654 posts Likes Given: 2,142 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 24 29-Dec-2017, 07:19 AM (This post was last modified: 29-Dec-2017, 07:23 AM by Tom BD Bad.) Steer clear of the FlySky T6, it uses the older AFHDS protocol and is not compatible with the new AFHDS 2A that can run the digital iBUS protocol (for up to 16 channels), go for the FS-I6X if you are going with FlySky, if you can afford the extra go for the FrSky Taranis QX7. You could save a few bucks and get the IRangeX clone of the FS-i6X too, that's what I use and I am pretty happy with it. If you want telemetry and RSSI in future, then go for FrSky. FrSky and FlySky do not work with each other! If you go with the Flysky I6X TX then this RX ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M8I...UTF8&psc=1) works well with it. I have used 2 and took them out of the the case and depinned them. Then you can solder directly to the board and wrap it in tape or heat shrink and it's much smaller and more manageable to mount somewhere. If space is at a premium I use this RX ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/Flysky-FS-RX2A-...2749.l2649) but it is one way and sends no data to the TX but it works good. I've used 2 of them and have a third one the way for another build. Here's a good guide ( http://www.multirotorguide.com/news/flys...year-2017/). DO NOT use the FS-A8S it has problems, even V2 of it. • Posts: 17 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 7 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 0 (29-Dec-2017, 07:19 AM)Tom BD Bad Wrote: Steer clear of the FlySky T6, it uses the older AFHDS protocol and is not compatible with the new AFHDS 2A that can run the digital iBUS protocol (for up to 16 channels), go for the FS-I6X if you are going with FlySky, if you can afford the extra go for the FrSky Taranis QX7. Will the x6b work with the irangex also? • Posts: 1,504 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 944 in 654 posts Likes Given: 2,142 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 24 Yes, the IRX-i6X is a straight up copy of the FS-i6X, so any AFHDS or AFHDS 2A RX will work. In reality I think Telemetry is not really necessary when flying FPV, because usually these days you have OSD, especially with your 1st build telemetry is just another thing to try and wrap your head around making it work. Saying that though I reckon the diversity antenna of the X6B RX should probably give you the most stable connection available from a FlySky RX in this weight category, the 30.5x30.5mm mounting is also handy, as long as you have space in the stack..? Eachine TX526 5.8G w/ mushroom antenna ( use 600mw for more range) or the VTx03 ? or will range be an issue ? i might as well install while i can. with the omnibus f4 All in one should i still use a PDB? like the martian PDB or MAtek PDBXT60 ? sorry for the noob questions ... ive read so much now have too many options ... like i see the omnibus f4.v3 pro has gyro/accelerometer/barometer will this keep it stable and let it altitude hold for beginners? • Posts: 3,288 Threads: 129 Likes Received: 2,740 in 1,644 posts Likes Given: 2,969 Joined: Apr 2017 Reputation: 65 I have two craft with Eachine VTX-03's and both work fine, though I did install a better antenna (Pagoda). Range is not really an issue for 99% of flights at medium setting. I have one drone with a Team Black Sheep 25-600mw VTX and I can count on one hand the number of flights that I have used it at full power. Most of the time I fly at 25mw to 100mw and I can get to about 100-150 meters before I feel like I would like more power. At 200mw, I can fly to 250 meters and still have clear enough picture to consider it usable. I have a lot of power lines around my seating area and I think there is probably a fair amount of interference and still no issues. SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! I’ll stick with rut vtx03 and it’s cheaper ! Thanks . I’ll add an antenna to it . • Posts: 3,288 Threads: 129 Likes Received: 2,740 in 1,644 posts Likes Given: 2,969 Joined: Apr 2017 Reputation: 65 250 meters is far enough away that I can no longer hear even my 5" race craft. It is plenty far, actually much farther than I am willing to walk to retrieve so mostly I fly inside 100 meters. I fly my 2" craft to 200 meters often and sometimes send it out to a small hill that is about 250 meters. I am using a FrSky XM+ RX and at 250 meters, I had about 60% RSSI which is a really stable signal actually. The VTX-03 has plenty of breakup for me out there, but no dropped picture. Still flyable. I bought the Pagoda from GetFPV and chose the SMA/LHCP. This is the Pagoda on a VTX03. SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Addicted :) |
