It is plenty far, actually much farther than I am willing to walk to retrieve so mostly I fly inside 100 meters. I fly my 2" craft to 200 meters often and sometimes send it out to a small hill that is about 250 meters. I am using a FrSky XM+ RX and at 250 meters, I had about 60% RSSI which is a really stable signal actually. The VTX-03 has plenty of breakup for me out there, but no dropped picture. Still flyable. I bought the Pagoda from GetFPV and chose the SMA/LHCP. This is the Pagoda on a VTX03. ok, so that Pagoda helped any? Pagoda with a UF to SMA or RP-SAM converter extension? • Posts: 3,288 Threads: 129 Likes Received: 2,740 in 1,644 posts Likes Given: 2,969 Joined: Apr 2017 Reputation: 65 They make both and I chose SMA. Yes, the Pagoda works very well. Both the quad and goggles have them installed. They are great when matched SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Altitude hold is not something that you will be using on a racing or acro quad so Barometer is unnecessary. The gyro will be used constantly to maintain the attitude (flying angle) of the quadcopter, so you are not so effected by a gust of wind. The accelerometer is used in 'Angle' or self stabilization modes. Re. Antenna's - remember that LHCP and RHCP is Left and Right handed circular polarization, you need to have the same direction for both VTX and VRX. First timer ? And should I get the PDB just to be on the safe side ? Omnibus F3 AIO , pro or F4 AIO? • Posts: 321 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 123 in 88 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 6 30-Dec-2017, 09:58 PM (This post was last modified: 30-Dec-2017, 10:03 PM by raspberrypi33.) Have you checked out UAVFutures's $99 quad build on Youtube? I highly recommend it, although there isn't an OSD. Just as a quick overview of the build, here's the major components (all from BG): LS-210 frame-$15 Racerstar BR-2205 2300Kv 2-4s motors-$30 4 in 1 20a ESC-$23 Eachine VTx 02 or 03-$9-13 Micro CMOS or Eachine CCD FPV camera-$6-12 2 bladed or 3 bladed props-~$5 Matek PDB-$5 SP-racing F3 FC-$15 OR (my recommendation): Omnibus F3 or F4 /w OSD, SD card, AIO-$22-26 • Posts: 17 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 7 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 0 Ok, I will follow it , but I do want OSD • Posts: 321 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 123 in 88 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 6 (30-Dec-2017, 04:29 PM)dundone Wrote: thanks Tom , so which fc should i get ? The Omnibus F3 and F4 are pretty much the same except for a few things like a current sensor and a faster processorand stuff like that. I would get the F4 if you can spare a few Xtra $! And YES! Get the PDB. • Posts: 17 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 7 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 0 Ok thanks , highly appreciated • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (30-Dec-2017, 04:29 PM)dundone Wrote: thanks Tom , so which fc should i get ? For a beginner ? First timer ? And should I get the PDB just to be on the safe side ? Omnibus F3 AIO , pro or F4 AIO? CL Racing F4 or F4S Joshua Bardwell FC Omnibus can be a little more difficult to wire for beginners because nothing is labeled and connecting RAM to voltage can be confusing. If you get the F4, and want to use SBUS and Smartaudio, you will need to hack non-inverted signal. In addition, Omnibus, you will need PDB. The FC I listed above is simple to understand and wire. And no PDB needed. Making the overall cost about the same. Regarding the UAVFutures $99 build, more than a few of us have built them and it is a great way to get into learning about building. The issue, Stu's parts list is starting to actually age now and there are updated guides available. Oscar has a build turorial that will net you a higher end craft while not pushing the budget too much higher. https://oscarliang.com/build-racing-dron...uadcopter/ Well worth the read and watch. Nothing wrong with the FPVFutures build, the tutorial video is great...but Oscar's machine is a much better selection of parts and the build log is tops for being able to follow. My first build project I ever started was based on Stu's build vlog and it still flies today. Oscar's build log is what I would follow today if I were starting my very first build now though. And First build .. where you buy from ? I’ve read and watched them numerous times .. that’s where I got the omnibus F4 AIO idea from eithbthe 20A 4n1 esc • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Plenty of USA vendors. Racedayquad, GetFPV, pirofliprc to name a few. A quick Google search will probably get you some more. As far as best for beginners, Joshua Bardwell FC will probably have the least amount of issues with the best documentation for beginners. The other two are pretty easy to wire also. Just less documentation. But as far as flight, they are all similar. It will likely not take too long for the JB F4's to be in stock and shipping again. It is good to keep an eye on more than 1 vendor when dealing with short supply situations. GetFPV, RDQ and ProFlip are my three "domestics". SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Addicted :) • |
