Finally got my drone! Now for a couple questions :)
#1
Hey everyone! First off, I'd just like to thank all of you for helping me get my first drone. Your advice was huge and very helpful!

I got my drone today and have a couple questions and would love your input. I've posted a video below.

For the buzzer, I mounted mine in the exact position you are thinking of. However that is because my quad, GEPRC CinePro has no room inside the frame. Looking at your frame I would suggest you mount it in the same position, but upside down inside the frame. Mounted on top, it is more subject to damage, especially if the battery disconnects and slides forward at high speed. Just make sure you can easily access the on/off button and the USB port for charging. Mounting it inside the frame may also limit the visibility of the strobe, so you might want to check that, if you have a concern. Also, reinforce the adhesive mounting with one of the enclosed zip ties, just in case. Yes, the Ummagawd sticky is designed for you to cut to the desired shape for wherever you want to place it. Good luck with your drone adventures.

If you have not flown a drone before leave the GoPro off. Your just going to break it. It adds a lot of weight. Once you get the hang of it stick it back on. It looks like you went HD so the video from the DVR should be pretty good.

What these guys said. I'll add some.

I have two quads with that same buzzer so I'm very familiar with it. You have a TON of room inside the frame in front of the flight controller to attach it. My suggestion is to orient it so that the side button is easily accessible and that the wires are facing the flight controller and twisted+secured to prevent them from catching on a tree branch. Try to locate the buzzer so that the connector is pressed up against something else so that it's unlikely that the connector will slip out in a crash. Keep the wires as short as possible to avoid a snag.

A trick for securing the buzzer is to pass a zip tie carefully through the buzzer's shrink wrap cover. Depending on the orientation, that zip tie can either attach the buzzer directly to the frame or make it into a loop and use two other zip ties to attach the loop to the frame.

Finally, something nobody mentions is that the buzzer is shipped at storage voltage (3.8) and is charged over time as you fly it. Before you go out (and if you haven't flown in a while), connect the quad to your computer via the USB cable and let the buzzer battery charge for an hour or two. I learned this lesson the hard way because I flew just after installing the buzzer and crashed in thick brush. The buzzer beeped a few times and died....quad gone.

On the sticky mat....I have that on all my quads. It's hard to cut to shape. I've tried cutting it to shape vs. just cutting a straight strip that is installed down the middle of the frame. It doesn't seem to make a difference and it's much cleaner to just cut a nice clean rectangle that fits. Also, those jagged edges that you create when trying to cut it to shape just pick up dirt and crud anyway.

(oh...definitely what he said about the gopro...leave it off until you can fly and land without crashes or you'll be buying another)
