Filament-PM "Prusa Orange" PETG - Cheaper Than Prusament PETG
#1
While Prusa now manufacture their own "Prusament" line of filaments, they used to get their filament from a different manufacturer and just re-label it as "Prusa" filament.

For anyone who wants to print replacement or mod parts for their Prusa printer in PETG as used for the original printed parts and have them looking exactly the same shade of orange, Filament-PM was the manufacturer that Prusa used to use for their PETG, and that manufacturer still makes the original PETG filament they used to supply to Prusa which they call "Orange 2018" and is the same identical colour as the Prusament PETG Prusa Orange. The Filament-PM filament is $10 cheaper than the Prusament equivalent. Filament-PM are based in the Czech Republic so filament is shipped from there like the Prusa filament also is, but Filament-PM also have a US warehouse for any US buyers.

The one difference you should be aware of is that the Filament-PM PETG is manufactured to a diameter tolerance of 0.05mm across the whole length of the filament whereas the Prusament PETG is manufactured to a much tighter tolerance of 0.02mm.

So make your choice and pay your money, but the options are out there Smile

Thanks for such detailed info. i need to know, an alternative orange filament that matches up well with the original Prusa orange..

Recently I purchased a mini Plus and wanted to print upgrades for it, I've ordered Esun PLA in black and orange but the shades don't match up with the signature shade of orange that prusa is known for.

I checked and I cannot buy prusament from here directly so if I want original filaments I'll have to pay twice the usual rates.

I'm looking for an alternative that would not stick out next to the original orange.

For the past year I have been using 3DQF which is a UK made filament, with very good results.  I have currently Yellow, Navy, Black and Battleship Grey.

An amusing aside, the yellow I have is listed and labelled as "B.R. Yellow"

British Rail Yellow as they used to paint the ends of Locos?

No, Yellow "Brick Road"......................   Rolleyes Big Grin

Got to go..........off to see the Wizard............... Whistling
