New Prusa 3D Printers - i3 MK3S+ and Mini+
#1
Prusa have just announced a new i3 MK3S+ and also a Mini+. These are effectively just a refresh of the current i3 MK3S and Mini machines, the main one being the newly developed SuperPINDA sensor. There are also a few improvements to both printers by way of upgraded brackets and/or printed parts.

The link below gives full details about the changes. Anyone who previously already placed an order for a Prusa i3 MK3S or a Mini will be getting the upgraded MK3S+ and Mini+ at no additional charge.

Summary of Changes to the "+" Versions:-
  • A new SuperPINDA Sensor for both the MK3S+ and the Mini+ to replace the PINDA V2 and MINDA sensors respectively on those two printers. This new sensor is no longer dependant on temperature changes so it works more accurately without needing a thermistor.
  • New plastic holders for the Y-axis rods on the MK3S+ which does away with the need for zip-ties to hold the rods in place.
  • The MK3S+ now comes with Misumi LMU8 linear bearings instead of the original generic LM8UU linear bearings.
  • A new type of metal clips for the Y-axis linear bearings that hold them to the Y-carriage on both the MK3S+ and Mini+ without any risk of squashing or distorting the bearings like the U-bolts can if done up too tightly.
  • re-designed extruder housing on the MK3S+ to improve the filament path to make printing with some materials like TPU more reliable.
  • new filament cooling fan shroud for the MK3S+ to improve cooling and air flow.
  • Upgrade kits available for the MK3S and Mini to upgrade them to the "+" versions. For the new printed parts on the MK3S, no physical parts are included in the upgrade kit but the STL files will be available and and enough filament to print the parts will be included with the kit.
