FC to ESC wiring diagram Help
#1
Hi!
I was building my 2nd quad (Speedy Bee F4V3 stack) and I think I fried my ESC (installed low ESR capacitor backwards)
I plugged in the batt, and POP/SPARK big dummy right???
I have a Velox V45A laying around so I'm attemting to swap it with the fried ESC
Questions:
Will this 45A ESC be fine to replace a 50A?
On the pad the FC has an N/A which goes to TEL on the Speedy Bee ESC. Can I live without TEL?
Will the Vbat power the FC or the 10V pad from the ESC? I'm not sure what voltage the FC requires.

I'm attaching a wiring diagram I you could look at it and double check my would I'd greatly appreciate it!!!
thanks ALL!!!

Yes, using the T-Motor Velox 45A ESC will work just fine.

You don't need telemetry from the ESC to the FC. It serves no real purpose in today's world, so you can just leave that wire disconnected if you want to. If you do leave it connected then it won't function unless you were to enable ESC telemetry on that UART anyway, but even with the wire connected I wouldn't bother enabling ESC telemetry.

Connect the VBAT wire from the T-Motor Velox to the SpeedyBee F405 V3 FC. The 10V output from the T-Motor Velox ESC will just remain not connected to anything.

If only your cap was wired backwards, you might be lucky and only have destroyed the cap. You might check your original ESC, it could still be in working order.

If you wish to wire up a different ESC, you should match the connection to the FC, not the old ESC.

The flight controller is rated 3-6S, so you can power it with vbat if that is what you will be running, if you use the 10v out from your ESC you would lose the ability to read battery voltage in BF as well as the FC's battery indicator LEDS.

Your ESC does look like it has telemetry it would be the TX pad, that is what needs to be connected to the FC telemetry pin. This is ESC telemetry typically found in BL32 ESCs. It is optional and you can decide if you want it or not.

Awesome thanks!
I skipped the 10v and hooked up the TEL and its beeping and the motors are spinning!!!
It was a bit of a blunder, but I feel I've learned more than I would have otherwise.

I think I was using the Old ESC instead of the FC in my diagram. As you said, I followed the FC and got it working just fine. I'll circle back to the old ESC, it doesn't look like anything is wrong with it
Thanks!
