Seriously!? half + and half - that's a strange mixture, at least in my own little experience. Mine are all connected to the same (-) pole, at least! Above I was asking about the use of non conductive paint on holes to isolate them but apparently no one ever used it... • Posts: 6,118 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,289 in 1,836 posts Likes Given: 4,737 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 101 eachine minicube i dont know if anyone ever used this, i beleive its a smokything only... • Posts: 1,197 Threads: 59 Likes Received: 592 in 395 posts Likes Given: 210 Joined: Mar 2019 Reputation: 42 (04-Mar-2020, 05:53 PM)mivo Wrote: Seriously!? half + and half - that's a strange mixture, at least in my own little experience. I have used non-conductive paint and fiber washers with a metal-screw mounted stack. It actually served me pretty well, but I did get bad video interference on that quad after a few flights. The threads on the screws wore through the non-conducting paint (Silicone modified conformal coating in this case) pretty quickly. The eventual demise of this build was destruction of the PCB's in a bad crash after about 6 months of service (6 packs 3 times a week.). I found that the forgiveness of plastic standoffs breaking saves the components, while I ran metal standoffs I was breaking the corners out of boards, cracking boards and losing components... Interested to see how you go though as back then I was still running the good ol matek PDB, 2300kv 2204's, 20A Fairy ESC's(custom flashed to blheli with a 470uf cap each) and a Foxeer F303 in this build. Thanks for your precious feedback, I was thinking myself too about metal screws damaging paint over time. I decided to get rid of plastic standoff after a couple of bad crashes that cost me 2X 4in1 ESCs...only time will tell if metal screw works for me! If you can manage to fit it (holes are normally pretty tight) something like heatshrink over the metal screws might help? Like 3mm heatshrink cut 2mm long to fit between the nuts... • Posts: 6,118 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,289 in 1,836 posts Likes Given: 4,737 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 101 i like some eachine stuff, about value for money the have a few things vtxs goggles... tyros to bring more peoples in to the hobby... the minicube is a product from 2016... this makes this „issue“ a bit acceptable... it was inovative for the price back than. If it wasn’t for Eachine, I probably wouldn’t have been into the hobby too but, apart from prices, their QA is far from great. • |
