Error message : Holybro Tekko32 F3 45A 4-in-1 ESCS'
#1
SnowLeopardFPV,

How can I fix the Holybro Tekko32 F3 45A 4-in-1 ESC which reports "Found 2 ESC with similar unique ID numbers!" and hence unable to work with the ESC. Never happened to me before.

In fact, I changed the ESC to a brand new  Tekko32 F3 45A 4-in-1 ESC for the old one(which I had flown only one pack with a Tattu 4S 1550mAh lipo. By the way, and it flew well then)

But, it started reporting the same error after upgrading to a New BLHeli32 firmware(I forget which). Can't figure out the problem. Two new identical ESC's are not working !!!.

I use the Kakute F7 v1.5 with these ESCS'. I fly 5 inch BF quads with Bidirectional Dshot enabled. Am I unlucky to receive two lousy ESCs or it is something else I am ignorant about ?

BUT, I have two more 5" Quads with the same ESC's which I have been flying since late 2019 and they fly very well indeed, with lots of crashes and all.  My go to FCS' are Kakute F7 for 4 in1 and Matek 722-SE for individual ESCS'    Hoping for your advice. Many Thanks.

Have you checked this out, Oscar does great stuff: https://oscarliang.com/esc-error-similar-unique-id/

I've never seen this error before. Does it not even let you Read the setup , or flash a different firmware version?

edit: do you have another FC to try? maybe the ESC is fine but problem with the FC?

JB also put out a video about this very issue last year. I remember watching it back then and thinking to myself that I'd never even heard of or seen that issue. Two ESC signal wires touching usually also results in two motors spinning up together when you use the single motor RPM sliders in the Motors tab of Betaflight Configurator.

Many Thanks @MrSolo and off course @SnowLeopardFPV. There was a slightly bent pin in my Kakute F7 FC. After straightening out the bent pin it is working fine. @MrSolo, every time I tried to Read Setup, the error message was reported. You can't flash a new firmware. Basically, I could not find a work around. I am extremely careful in plugging JST socket and plugs, since I messed up a Matek GPS socket pin long back and could never straighten the bent pin dead on. Undesirable stuff happens! One has to be very careful in plugging in JST's, especially the SH ones, I guess. Cheers !!!

I can relate to your experience.

I can't seem to get along with UFL connectors on VTX's  Big Grin

I just ripped the UFL connector a Tramp HV vtx last week. I was having suspicious video issues and the coaxial cable appeared loose which after a slight wiggled came off the connector. They I tried to heat up and remove the protective glue on the UFL connector and the entire UFL connector came off ripping the signal pad leave no exposed trace. Added it to my box of shamefully broken components and ordered a replacement VTX.  Cry

I had once experienced an UFL connector rip off from a TBS Nano SE receiver with the protective glue and all the rest of it. As a side note, I have Ripped Off the USB port of two of my Matek F722-SE rendering them useless, since I am no Livyu. But, surely I shall give it the old college try to solder the USB back on to the board. I love the F722-SE FC for individual ESC's. This has never happened to me with any other FC that I have ever used. I wonder whether it is the FC's Achilles Heel or I am just plain unlucky. Cheers !!!
