effed up gyro or what
#1
Has anyone seen a gyro trace like this before ???

I have not... this is a hakrc 722 mini. https://de.banggood.com/20+20mm-HAKRC-F7...rehouse=CN
I flashed it directly to 4.3 and tried the hakrc722mini and the Matek722se targets with always the same result. Well, with the Matek target the BB is not working. When I use the sensors page and spool up the motors the gyro traces look fine. But I get this result when trying to fly. Of course not possible :-)

Anynone has a suggestion? I also used gyro_to_use from 1,2,both with no success. At the same time BF says it found 1 MPU6000 gyro. But the board is supposed to have 2. Well, one would be fine for me :-)

Thanks
jan

I do not have the exact same FC but I will first suggest to confirm the board version using the CLI command "version" to ensure the board is flashed with the correct target.

Its probably "board_name HAKRCF722MINI" which will require the "HAKRCF722MINI" target in Betaflight. Ensure you do a full erase and apply custom defaults after flashing Betaflight.

As per my quick google search there is only a single MPU6000 gyro chip on this board.

But again HAKRC can be a bit questionable about their documentation. I do have one of their HAKRC F405DM FC's which has played fairly well and I picket up as a test board since pretty much everything can be connected via JST plugs: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001299581768.html

The blackbox data does look weird. Is it the same with the raw gyro traces?

How des it fly? It may just be an issue with the black box logging.

If you connect the quad to Betaflight and rotate the quad on all 3 axis, does the quad behave normally?

Any wires hitting or rubbing against the FC on the build? Some reports have claimed a wire touching the gyro chip can introduce noise.

Yes I used the HAKRD722MINI target. And full flash etc. I only tried the Matek Target because BG states that on the product page.
The thing with two gyros puzzled my, and in this regards all written stuff is misleading at least. I still have to take the build apart and look. But status clearly shows MPU600

Regarding the data, I have not looked at gyro raw. And it doesnt fly at all, it just falls over on idle throttle :-D
And yes in BF config all looks ok. Even running the motors (without props) and monitoring in the sensor tab shows nothing out of the ordinary.

Wires touching the gyro dont produce this kind of data.

I also have never seen a defective gyro producing this kind of data. Thats why I asked if someone has seen smth like this before because to me it looks like some kind of Firmware /board / SPI issue

The fact that it falls over at idle throttle sounds like its a board or gyro alignment issue if not a defective gyro.

Does the quad actually rotate around each axis properly in Betaflight Configurator? With and without the lipo plugged in?

Something must be overwhelming the gyro during actual flight.

yes, all fine, but I didnt test with lipo attached. I only tested the sensor page with lipo attached.
Well it doesnt fall over, you hear the motors twitching a bit and then it just gets out of balance.

But thats excatly the question: Has anyone seen a defective gyro sending such values on all axis?? MMe personally, no.
