I've only tested it briefly so far, but there is an immediately noticeable difference in the motor sound the first time you arm and it feels super smooth. If you are feeling brave and want to help test, follow the setup guide below. Otherwise, sit tight until it makes its way to the mainline release in the near future! https://github.com/bird-sanctuary/blueja...-Checklist Posts: 21,198 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,936 in 6,611 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 22-Mar-2023, 09:10 AM (This post was last modified: 22-Mar-2023, 09:12 AM by SnowLeopardFPV.) So this is where Bluejay has been hiding I was recently wondering why there had been no updates in the original repo ( HERE) for over a year. I didn't realise that continued development had been forked off to a different GitHub repo. I guess I should have been keeping tabs on the Bluejay Discord server. There are just way too many FPV related Discord servers these days (not to mention forums and all the Facebook groups) to be able to keep tabs on everything, so I guess I just missed it. • Posts: 1,505 Threads: 49 Likes Received: 713 in 524 posts Likes Given: 477 Joined: Oct 2020 Reputation: 93 Yes, Mathias decided to step away from the project for a bit and unfortunately no other admins were added to the project before that happened. When it became clear his absence may be indefinite, stylesuxx forked the project to allow for continued development and along with some other very talented developers have continued moving things forward. Hopefully Mathias will return at some point, but for the time being the project lives at https://github.com/bird-sanctuary/bluejay There is also a new Discord for the project here: https://discord.gg/VmUbTZHffh Posts: 21,198 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,936 in 6,611 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 I'm still running Mathias' v0.16 version on my BLHeli_S equipped quads because I thought nothing had moved forward, so it looks like I have a bit of catching up to do if I want the the up-to-date bug fixes and minor enhancements. I may just wait until v0.20 drops and then upgrade my quads to that version. Do you have any idea roughly how far away a release of that is likely to be? • Posts: 1,505 Threads: 49 Likes Received: 713 in 524 posts Likes Given: 477 Joined: Oct 2020 Reputation: 93 It depends on how the testing goes and how many bugs are found • Posts: 5,319 Threads: 673 Likes Received: 3,156 in 1,744 posts Likes Given: 2,031 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 • Posts: 1,490 Threads: 92 Likes Received: 574 in 468 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2020 Reputation: 27 Any update when it will be ready? I noticed you need BF4.4 to used extra DShot telemetry... ughh .. so I need to upgrade? • Posts: 1,505 Threads: 49 Likes Received: 713 in 524 posts Likes Given: 477 Joined: Oct 2020 Reputation: 93 31-Mar-2023, 07:41 AM (This post was last modified: 31-Mar-2023, 06:44 PM by V-22.) You can flash the current Betaflight 4.5.0-zulu version with the EDT PR by following the instructions linked in the first post, but if you'd rather stick with stable releases just wait for Betaflight 4.5.0. You can still try Bluejay 0.20 (rc5 now) with earlier Betaflight versions, just the additional DShot telemetry data will not be present. Make sure you use the https://develop.esc-configurator.com/ site, or else the Force EDT safety will be enabled and the ESC won't arm without a valid EDT signal from the ESC. The final 0.20 release might be as soon as next week, but again full EDT support will require Betaflight 4.5.0. Details about that can be found in the post linked to below... https://intofpv.com/t-psa-bluejay-possib...-x-v0-19-x • Posts: 1,367 Threads: 118 Likes Received: 1,411 in 728 posts Likes Given: 1,071 Joined: Jun 2019 Reputation: 41 06-Jun-2023, 06:41 AM (This post was last modified: 06-Jun-2023, 06:43 AM by ph2t.) Here's an example using version 20 rc8. EDT is enabled and esc power rating correctly set to the FC max rated voltage of 2S. Even though this example is running on 1S you must set this value in esc configurator to the FC rated max voltage. Dynamic PWM is enabled. EDT OSD elements for esc rpm and temperature configured. Ignore the quad tune, it's a different problem most likely related to the betafpv 12A AIO. No desyncs or gradual loss of power which are the main bugs. For these 1S rigs the devs are looking to increase the max values on the sliders for startup power. As seen in the video above the props have a tricky time starting up when armed. This is on max values for startup. |
