Do you use OSD for FPV? |
08-Sep-2016, 10:06 PM For FPV freestyle, is OSD necessary? 08-Sep-2016, 10:09 PM The main usage of OSD for mini quad is mainly just voltage and timer. There are many other alternatives such as telemetry and voltage buzzer alarm. check out my post about "how to monitor voltage" 08-Sep-2016, 10:11 PM Depending on noises or distances u fly, even freestyle. I love having the OSD for voltage monitoring. Impossible to hear a buzzer in 50+ meters distance if it just beeps at times, especially when the wind goes the other way. Also nice to display speed when using a GPS for speed measuring. 09-Sep-2016, 01:45 PM I used to fly just using the "Battery critical" alarm on my Taranis set to 3.5 volts per cell, and I'd end up landing too quickly because there were times that the battery may dip that low in a punchout but then go back to normal. With an OSD, since I can monitor voltage real time, I'm able to get better flight times(not landing too quickly). If you've got a current sensor such as in the RROSD or Matek HubOSD, even better. |
