So during the quarantine period the last week i decided to upgrade my tool holder.. Bought an off cut of Oak from ebay and got to work. I found a similar design on etsy and used it as inspiration..
Old tool holder...
Started by drawing up a plan of where to drill the holes and stuck it to the wood..
Used a drill guide to drill the holes..
Had to use a jigsaw, a chisel and a bit pf dremelling to finish boring out the centre hole as i think my cheap forstner bit went blunt..
Decided to cut the ends at an angle for asthetics, had to do it by hand as my jigsaw struggled with the centre bit so didn't trust it..
Sanded the corners and added magnets for a steel ruler..
Gave it 3 coats of Danish oil..
Finshed, hopefully now i won't loose my tools in the mess on my building desk. Really happy with the result!
The ruler hanging off annoys me so ordered a 20cm one instead..
