#1
6 Arm Helping hand soldering station.

This is not a new must have tool but a DIY for one already mentioned.

Links for parts are below

It can be purchased on line.:
https://www.amazon.com/Soldering-Flexibl...8573&psc=1

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/W...86968.html

And elsewhere.

OR   I chose to DIY   Total cost about $15.

It can be used with or with out the metal junction box

Easy to DIY
1. Drill 1/2" holes
2. Assemble arms to the base and tighten with nut.
3. Remove the last section of each arm and attach alligator clips

For me the arms are a bit long but you can remove as many sections as you need to shorten them.

Flexible arms  $6.98

Aligator clips  $3.99
https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Plastic-Ha...PMWN285VZH

4"x4" Metal junction box and lid  $2.99
6  1/2"x20 Nuts  $0.80

NOTE:
(i searched the forum a DIY like this but came up empty. If someone finds an earlier DIY post please let me know and I will delete this one)

Roger74, is the weight enough? On my store bought helping hands, I wish the center block would weight a little more.

I guess you could always fill the base with sand, lead, or some other densely weighted material.

Yeah lead shot might work nicely.

Throw a neodymium magnet under that plate, for managing loose hardware. They are heavy enough to help offer some weight too.

First let me apologize, i just now saw your question.

Yes, the weight of the  4" box has been enough to keep it stable. I usually extend the arms out away from the box when working but
i am only holding a FC board so tipping over hasnt been an issue.

IF YOU BUILD IT, IT WILL CRASH
