786 I didn't watch the full FAA Q&A session but Sean has summarised one of the points of particular concern in his video below regarding public broadcast of the location of a remote UAV pilot...
The full 50 minute FAA Q&A session on the Remote ID ruling is here for anyone interested...

78 You would have to be a moron to even consider fly with Remote ID.

65 There is not compelling reason to comply. Safety is not (and really never has been) a reason for any of this. Holding a gun to my head is not a compelling reason either, that is just "threat compelled compliance". At this point, it truly looks like they are simply attempting to set enough rules that we surrender our hobby.

20 The FAA hears the word “DRONE”… and they immediately think Mavic, Matrice, (bigger commercial cinematic) .. there is no categories to differentiate these from a Tinyhawk, Mobula6 … so.. they get lumped in.. yeah, we heard about the sub 250, non commercial stuff.. but even that seems to have been “pushed to the side”..

12 Nothing new here, just the FAA admitting that many drone operators are pissed about the public being able to see their location and indirectly saying, sorry, that's just how it's going to be because other government agencies (DoD, Law Enforcment etc. ) are making sure this happens.

11 Yep, just as I suspected more lies. The US government has always been lying, the sad part is now they don’t care if you know their lying.

6 I don't support FAA , but many popular FPV pilots on Youtube start doing stupid things such as flying at night, flying over people without any precaution etc. If they keep doing this type of activities, FAA and relevant units will implement more strict rules.

20 The FAA only effects US citizens…this is another “issue”, the FAA sees videos, and pretty sure they “forget” there are other people, in other places flying.

0 15-Aug-2021, 10:09 AM (This post was last modified: 15-Aug-2021, 10:10 AM by Titanv11.) If the reason for Remote ID is for safety concerns... why aren't vehicles and firearms fitted with it?
Media hype... maybe!!
Just an irrational fear.
I HATE FRSKY!!!
