How do you like the 1504.5 ? I just ordered the 3950 kv versions . Is 1504.5 a little more pep than 1404 ? • Posts: 5,866 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,779 in 2,241 posts Likes Given: 7,629 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 I have the Brotherhobby 1504.5 3950kv motors on my Katana-LR4 build. Personally, I like them. In my opinion, they are really nice motors; they feel solid and smooth. They are heavier than 1404 motors. For cruising it is hard to tell any performance difference; maybe use a little less throttle, maybe a little smoother. • Posts: 787 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 539 in 340 posts Likes Given: 819 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 I love them. Definitely more power than my 1404's. This quad is my daily driver. I fly it every morning at work and have had no issues with the motors. • Posts: 787 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 539 in 340 posts Likes Given: 819 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 Posts: 5,866 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,779 in 2,241 posts Likes Given: 7,629 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 Hi Bill, Nice build. Do you think it has a chance at meeting the Challenge criteria? It might be a little heavy. • Posts: 787 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 539 in 340 posts Likes Given: 819 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 (20-Apr-2021, 04:35 PM)iFly4rotors Wrote: Hi Bill, Nice build. I think I can meet the weight requirements but I'm using DJI Goggles and they don't record the OSD in the DVR so i couldn't really prove it. • Posts: 5,866 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,779 in 2,241 posts Likes Given: 7,629 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 (21-Apr-2021, 04:56 AM)wllmlutz Wrote: I think I can meet the weight requirements but I'm using DJI Goggles and they don't record the OSD in the DVR so i couldn't really prove it. Hi Bill, Wow, does digital just not do OSD at all. And...no way to get any OSD information If that is the case it would sure take digital out of consideration for me. I like the OSD Info. For me, NO OSD, NO Digital. Oh well, it was just a thought. Still, it is an extremely well built quad. Have fun. • Posts: 21,222 Threads: 583 Likes Received: 8,952 in 6,623 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 21-Apr-2021, 12:32 PM (This post was last modified: 21-Apr-2021, 12:49 PM by SnowLeopardFPV. It does however record some of the OSD element values to a separate subtitle (SRT) file which you can overlay onto recorded footage in post-editing, but it then just appears as a load of text at the bottom of the screen and nothing like you see in real-time in the OSD of the goggles themselves (see HERE for a demo of what it looks like after post-editing). A lot of the OSD information is also missing from the SRT file with GPS co-ordinates and distance being some that aren't included. DJI no longer seems to have any interest in improving or enhancing the standalone FPV system so those gaps and missing features will likely just remain unfortunately. Hi Snow, Thanks for the information. Now, here is a question...a separate on-board DVR could be connected to the FC...so...you could get OSD info on that device, correct ? Yeah, it wouldn't be real OSD that you could use, but it would provide the data either for analysis or confirmation purposes. Just a thought • |
