DasMikro Micro DSM2 Receiver for brushed quad
#1
Some people have been asking if there is a micro size DSM2 receiver they can use for the brushed motor micro quad. Now there is!
http://www.banggood.com/DasMikro-DSM2-5C...84913.html
  • Channels: 5 channels (6 channels PPM
  • Power: 3.7-5V DC
  • Weight: 0.28g
  • Antenna Length: 30mm
  • Size: 9.5mm*10.5mm*2.5mm

This DSM2 supports all JR and Spektrum transmitter as well as other TX that has DSM2 protocol. It also supports WALKERA DEVO 10 and DEVO 7E with deviation firmware.

There is no bind pins, the receiver has an "autobind" procedure just like other toy grade quadcopters. When switch on, receiver will try to bind with transmitter for about 3s (when led blinking). If receiver find a TX (must be also in bind mode) then it will remember the transmitter identifier and bind with it. If it can't bind with a transmitter then is retrieves previously bind transmitter identifier. This way, we save an extra pin and only need to bind once. After the bind procedure, the LED will stay on if signal reception is good. If there is no signal reception at all the LED will go off, if signal is weak the LED will blink rapidly and randomly.

CH1 to CH5 are PWM signal output (servo signal)
If CH1 connects to GND, CH2 will output 6CH PPM signal.

Is there a reason that this is a bad alternative? http://www.banggood.com/2_4G-5CH-DSM2-Fu...04179.html

Hoping that the linked product (Working voltage 3.3-4.2V) will be more compatible with the Micro F3 Board.

.... The F3 board's DSM interface only provides 3.3v, right? Won't the DasMikro be underpowered? I suppose you can just grab power elsewhere on the board, but you reported that as being buggy...

Mostly considering goofing around with the F3 board for the buzzer / easy betaflight compatibility ... starting to think that's a bad idea ...

Hi Oscar,

9,99$ is a very good price for dsm2 but sadly I have DJT module in my Turnigy 9X.
I was wondering if there any rx micro modules compatible with DJT within the same price range?

I'm only aware of SRP8 but price is almost doubled. Sad

Why all the producers continue to use only dsm2 instead of dsmx?? Since 2015 in EU dsm2 is illegal and no more supported in Spektrum products.
Any alternative for micro dsmx receivers?

PCB layout looks identical, seems like the main difference is voltage input, the one i posted is newer and support up to 5V.

Hi,
Anyone had successfully binded it with a modded 7e?
I'm not.
I choose fixed id = 123456
Channels=6
Model type=plane
PPM In = None
Put devo 7e in bond mode then power on flight controller (brushed Spracing evo) but nothin happen.
Any Suggestion?
Many thanks

You only get six channels if you use single wire in PPM mode.  If you are running all signal wires, it's only 5 channels.

those are good ones, i use that on some of my micros. Only drawback is the range, the antenna is designed on a PCB and I get only about 50-60m on mine. If you want more range you should go with those with a "wire" antenna.

Hi!

Do these micro receivers support failsafe in any way?
Feel like constantly chasing perfection. Once you think you almost got it, see how far you are really.

Btw. This is an awesome project. Simon deos firmware and hardware by himself. Helped me few times with flashing VD5M micro rx.

Btw.2 Simon is building awesome brushless micro quadcopter too. I would recommend his blog fishpepper.de lots of good stuff there Smile
