Cobra S scroll wheel defect?
#1
So I just got the cobra S a few months ago, and today I wanted to review some OSD footage from a flight.
This is done by switching modes in the mode menu.
I can access the mode menu by pressing the left scroll wheel, but when I want to select another mode (wich is done by scrolling the left wheel) it does nothing.
So the left scrolling does just not work.
I already tried updating the software, powering it from USB, resetting to factory settings but nothing helped.
I was thinking this should be a hardware issue.
The strange thing is, yesterday night I was just messing around trying to fix it, I did some things with booting in storage mode (power button and left scroll wheel pressed), and after I rebooted it suddenly worked.
But this morning I booted the goggles, and I had the same issue, scroll wheel doing nothing.
Tried everything I did yesterday but can't remember excatly what I did to fix it, so now I'm back with a dead scroll wheel.
Did anyone have this issue and maybe has a fix for it?

Try the left wheel.
If you accidentally clicked on wheel switching, the left becomes the right wheel and the right becomes the left.

Go to system menu, then rotary switch, you will see normal and switch left and right.
If buttons on the right work but rotary wheel doesn’t then the ribbon cable inside may have not been secure in place.
Are these new headsets?

My charger did the same thing and I blew some compressed air through it and it started working.

I have the cobra S, so the rotary switch option is not in the menu. (only cobra X)
But when I try to scroll, both wheels do nothing at all.
So I don't think they can switch function.
However, the right wheel works in the system menu.
I will try the compressed air thing and see if that solves anything.

Yes, the  goggles are just 3 months old.

Do either of you have the v1 CobraX.

I've been suffering with the power battery drain on these for like 6 months now.
Sometimes they start up "normal" and work good.
Sometimes, there is high pitch electrical filtering noise from right side which gets hot, battery drains in 10-12min and also hot.

What battery are you using?
I heard some stories about people using a single 18650 Liion cell, wich caused problems.
Even skyzone recommends using a external battery, something like a 6s lipo.
I don't know about the filtering noise though.

I have CobraX version 1 and I even updated the hardware to V2 hoping to get more battery time out of 18650 and it didn’t improve battery life.

The 18650 battery life is still only 15-20 minutes.

What I recommend is using an external battery and then the battery life can last 2 hours.

I use 4S-6S 1300-2000 LiPo packs or 2S liion pack and stopped using 18650.
